Rumours are that the 780 will have 6gb and the ti will not. Also the kingpin will have a 6gb version. That's the thing with nvidia they never give people what they want, there is always an inbetween that hits the mark but also misses the mark. If amd had better driver support with an nvidia inspector alternative id have jumped ship long ago.

True evil never dies :D or in that case upgrading. i guess we have to see, i am at good point with my 120hz 3D and mighty 780, i still amazed how the 780 is the best card and far superior than 680 770(50% better performance)

@Lu: 750ti doesn't cut it for main gpu (even just to get by)

    @780 6gb pricing: Screw that.

thinking about 6gb 780, heard only the k|ngp|n 780 ti would get 6gb.
however if 6gb 780 TI regular ones do appear thgen that changes quite a lot.
    titan black now £777 (msi)
    780 now £380 (evga sc)
    780 TI now £530 (evga sc :p )
    pricing included postage.
no way would I go TI with only 3gb, 780 perhaps, but imo it'll be worth holding on a while till 6gb versions arrive.

    btw whats your max budget?
I mean, I saw you mentioning Titan black, if you're willing to pay that much for a single gpu then get TB and OC to 1250mhz np with extra 3gb buffer and double precision for the kicks ^^

Well I was willing to cash out ~ 550€ (no tax) last summer for 780gtx MSI TF4, but then I decided to wait for 290 non x, by the time it released I already used that extra cash.. So now Im back at square 0 with extra €€ lol

Although my initial plan was to have GK110, but since those 880gtx's, amd 300's etc, looks so close to release i'll wait some more for that.
Dont have any real trouble with this oc'ed 580 yet :)

it changes -Tj-, i guess i'll wait for 6gb 780s.
i know personally that i wouldn't have any buyer regret with a titan b, where others would so if the chance presents itself i would prolly go for it, though x2 780 6gb wouldn't be that much more so ..
but yeah i'm sure about one thing, my rma arrives tomorrow and from there i'll see what i'm gonna do.

More recent games and future games are reaching that 3GB VRAM limit on a lot of GPU's mine included.

Titanfall uses up around 2.6-2.8GB VRAM with Insane textures. Watchdogs is also another title that looks set to reach these limits also.

All this at 1080p as well.

I for one will either be getting a second 7970 and just turning down AA or textures in future games. Or splashing out in a few months on an MSI 290 Gaming, had my eye on those for a while now.

my ideal would be 780 ti, for me it's like a high end card plus a PhysX card rolled into one.
but the 3gb kills it. like 2gb killed the 680s.

You are not going to run out of 3gb of vram at 1080 anytime soon. The 2gb 680s run at the same fps as the 4gb 680s. 2gb on a 680 is fine.

i'm with Vet on this one, -TK-. I got burned with the 580s, it ain't never gonna happen again.
running high fps plus AA I can understand the 780 TI, but for me 1080 75fps no AA it needs more vram. (so does the 780 for me)

Personally I think you should get a 770GTX, best bang for buck, especially the 2GB cards. Unless you plan on gaming on resolutions higher then 1080p of course.
