When I start my laptop the RadeonPro communcation service does not start up and I have to force start it in order for RP to start with no error, anyone have a fix?

Anyone else having issues getting RP to work with Thief? Nothing works with the game... fps counter, shortcuts... nothing. It's like it doesn't recognize it.

Thief uses a 64-bit executable, make sure you have 64-bit support enabled in RP.

It's working. It's strange though... the game seems to crash after a short time if I force the framerate to anything.

What do you mean by "force the framerate"?

I'm using Dynamic VSync with Thief and it's working great.

If Steam overlay is enabled.... without it no problems.

Do others have issues with alt-tab when RadeonPro is on for that game? I can't alt-tab in game again, the application will black screen crash.

Works here for both 32 and 64-bit, exclusive fullscreen is disabled though so the game runs as borderless windowed which might be why. :)

EDIT: Whoops that wasn't related to Thief at all was it.

Maybe it's an issue of RP 64-bit and CF? Too bad I'm unable to test Thief using CF anymore. Bought a 290X and asked AMD for a 290X card so I can test CF but unfortunately I couldn't get a reply.

Looks like DVC is broken in RP + Catalyst 14.2 beta and HD 7000 series cards (tested and issue reproduced with an HD 7970 running Windows 8.1), the screen flickers when RP switches between Vsync Off/On when frame rate goes below display refresh rate. Let's hope next Catalyst beta or WHQL make DVC work again.

PS: R9 290X + Windows 7 (didn't test Windows 8/8.1) is immune to that issue.

I have never disabled steam overlay, so mine is always on.

Are you running Windows 7 or 8/8.1?

Hello everyone! New user but have been lurking for a few years :)

I recently bought an R9 290 and am now using RadeonPro to manage things. It works like a charm, except for the ambient occlusion. I've been trying to get it to work in Skyrim (used to have a GTX560ti and loved playing it with HBAO), but to no avail. At first I didn't even get the OSD indication "ambient occlusion:eek:n/off". I tried changing the depth buffer index from 0 to 1 and this gave me the OSD indication and a (switchable on/off) slight spotty darkening of the image with visible artifacts (the effect bled into other parts of the screen).

Is this a known issue? Is it fixable? I heard of a debug tool. I'm not a 3D grapics wizard, but I have some programming experience and knowledge of computer architecture.

Thank you for your time :)

Could you let the user choose where will files be saved? I've just found out there are two folders in my documens, and I am not terribly excited about it.

I don't know! I've only installed the program so far, but didn't actually use it.
I assume _some_ files are supposed to be eventually saved, which is why I am seeing the two folders in my documents: "RadeonPro Benchmarks" and "RadeonPro Logs". I'd prefer if I had the option to specify where will they be placed rather than slapping them into documents.

It's the same for all the others. (Benchs, movies, etc)

Only the logs are an exception.
