    Contact MSI. They don't reply here.

    Same Bios, Same Card, Same Issue! :bang:

    Try posting here

    Could well be a hardware limitation as going beyond 1.2v via bios editing also wont work

    Read it carefull, it is by far not the same. He is unable to get ANY voltage control even after editing the CFG. And yes, contacting MSI (and most likely RMA) is the way to go in this case.

    Just as a heads up guys, 3.0.0 Beta 18
    I AFTER adding that line to my profile I also had to go into "settings" and On the "General tab" and Check " Unlock Voltage Control / monitoring" then to get more than a 20-30 + on voltage at the bottom check " Extend official overclocking limits"

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    So teoretically

    1) -1 = ff means simply -6.26mV ? or only -1mV ??

    2) -15 = f1 if I am right ?

    Thanks.....

    Still limited to +100mv in other words voltage locked at 1.2 on most MSI 280x cards :bang:

    Its not easy and not a solution for everybody ,
    but the solution exist I can confirm that.

    MSI probably worry about the people who simply need to higher voltage
    and than they burn the graphics cards due to too high overvoltage.
    The warranty is on the site of costumer and its necessary to prove your reckless behaviour, and its easier to not allow people to do that,than to prove what you did...

    read my thread or this forum to find the solution yourself..

    Hi,

    I have the MSI R280X Gaming 3D BF4 grahpics card, product code starts V277-44SB.

    Can anyone tell me whether the suggestions in this thread will work for the particular revision of 280X GPU which I own?

    MSI support have simply said "Regarding your concern, sorry, that card(V277-44S) does not allow to mediate the core voltage,it is lock in BIOS "

    I am looking to undervolt the card.

    Many thanks.

    For anyone who might be interested, I can confirm the V277-44SB revision of the MSI R280x can be undervolted using the instructions earlier in this thread. I know the instructions are a little vague and spread about, so a loose description on how I did this is below...

    1) I uninstalled my existing AfterBurner application, removing any old profiles
    2) I downloaded and installed the latest AfterBurner Beta (ver 18 at time of writing)
    3) Open Afterburner and save a Profile (this creates the .cfg files you need to edit later)
    4) Goto \yourinstallation\MSI Afterburner\Profiles and open the .cfg file(s) in Notepad
    5) Add the lines ...

    [Settings]
    VDDC_IR3567B_Detection = 32h
    VDDC_IR3567B_Output = 0
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Detection = 32h
    MVDDC_IR3567B_Output = 1

    6) Save the file, open Afterburner and make sure the 'Unlock Voltage Control' option is ticked in the Settings area.

    Some oddities I noticed:

    1) 'Access Denied' when trying to save the .cfg files - simply right-click the file, goto Properties->Security-> and grant write permissions accordingly.

    2) Within Afterburner, I found that small changes to the Core Voltage were nullified when I hit 'Apply'. When I put the slider left full scale (to undervolt), the setting stuck.

    As a result my GPU temps have dropped by around 8degC.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Hi everyone, I had recently gotten an MSI R9 280X Gaming 3G edition, and I was wondering if this card supported VRM temperature monitoring? As I've seen from various review sites, stating that this card runs very toasty VRMs, I just want to see whether I'd need to crank up the fan speed in order to cooler them.
    Thanks :)
