It has been a long time coming but we take a look at early and initial Mantle performance.Â*The upcoming 14.1 Beta driver will receive many improvements.Â*At the simplest level, Mantle is an Applicati...

    Wow that's petty good.
I always look at any increase in frame rate no matter how "will it help go from unplayable to playable " and in this case it helps a lot for certain set ups.
    Good going so far AMD

Wow, some combos are being 60% increase. The increase with 3960 + 290 is negligible. I'd love to see 3960 + crossfire setup Hilbert, if possible.

Totally catered/altered and designed to show of Mantle, not an objective benchmark whatsoever.

Obviously, future engines will be written with mantle in mind. So it is relevant.

PS. Rather say you want to enjoy your weekend :p

I take it this means the Press has the driver, so we should expect it 24 hours later / Monday ?

Hilbert: where are the results for Kaveri+dGPU UltraHighQuality 4xFSAA?
You posted them in the last night front page and looked like this

    Battlefield 4 Ultra Quality DX11 720P 1080P
    AMD A10 7850K (IGP) DX11 20 10
    AMD A10 7850K (IGP) Mantle 21 10
    AMD A10 7850K (R9-290X) DX11 90 78
    AMD A10 7850K (R9-290X) Mantle 150 86

Are missing in the article itself...

Also if i compare the results above and the table at page 2 (more results) in the second table it shows that Kaveri for some reason got better results than 3960X in 1080p...86fps vs 83 fps..

Can you confirm again the numbers...?

The specific numbers you mention have not been included as they need to be re-done. Please don't compare two different data-sets.

Everything posted is preliminary, and I am sure there are bound to be some anomalies with the specific Beta driver.

So I can expect 5-10 fps boost at 1920x1200 in bf4 then  that is nice tbh.

C'mon Hilbert. pls leak the driver to Asder. AMD will never find out who leaked the driver. Like everytime.

As someone who is on both sides of the fence...the results aren't bad....however it still doesn't shutout Directx...imo in the upcoming year or so Directx should receive similar if not more of boost in performance....again the only downside to mantle right now.

    otherwise looks good.

    Thanks for this, Hilbert.

The results are better than what I expected. Even on enthusiast hardware it will be of use to squeeze a little bit more quality out of a Mantle game and maybe while keeping the frame rate.

And the audio part? I guess that will be included in another review.

Does improve framerates but doesnt seem a massive amount. If I were nvidia I wouldnt be 2 worried at this stage..(which is still early days).

and what is wrong with that? if the engine can show the power of mantle why not include it?

it is not that big of a deal because in fact it is nothing more that a tech demo
