one gpu amd notebooks ( igpu disable option models... ) can be "later mantle" from technical dificulties.

    AMD 7970m + 50Mhz O.C = 8970m = R9 M290X

    All specifications are the same. ( Shading Units:1280, TMUs:80, ROPs:32, Compute Units:20 )

There is no performance improvement over two years.

    AMD is fun. :rpg:

it's not the GPU that isn't supported so pointing that out does nothing, it's the fact that powerXpress and Enduro use switching technologies that switch the primary graphics adapter on the fly, this is aparantly the issue, a simple fix is that if your laptop allows you to turn off your other GPU in bios, you would be using your 7970M as the sole display and voila mantle should work until amd can sort out the issues with these dual display adapters.

    Muxless design is impossible.

It still in Beta, AMD probably want finish the support for desktop GPU first before turn to laptop GCN.

Which makes no sense at all. Laptops could benefit way more from Mantle, because they usually have energie saving midrange CPUs other than desktops which are meant for full power.

"Notebooks based on AMD Enduro or PowerXpress technologies are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4™"

Seems like only BF4 wont support laptops yet. Mantle does so we can try out the Starswarm demo :)

Just to be clear, I asked Jim Prior on Twitter regarding laptops that don't support Enduro like mine (I have a 2x AMD 8970M in Crossfire). He said that I will be able to test Mantle.

Laptop always get 2nd treatment from AMD and it is normal to concentrate on larger crowd.

Update: according @AMD_Roy, laptop users will be able to test Star Swarm anyway, since Enduro is lacking support only in the codepath of BF4, not in the driver itself.

Hmm, so I guess Mantle has a bad thing, if you want to support Laptop user, you need more than 3-4 month.

i said this. there is no connection between lvds monitor and amd discrete gpu. amd discrate gpu only connected to pci express.

if bios cabaple then can disable intel gpu but. it will work secretly for sending picture data...

and i have radeon 7730m. radeon 7730m have more transistor more pipline than 8730m...... my gpu doing big difference for some games ( like hitman absolution )

all gcn gpus using near same muxless design. if amd give mantle support to r9 mobile series. this is totaly dirty business tactic.

    r9-290m is rebranded HD8970m/7970m.

if amd planning mantle support for r9-290m not for 8970m/7970m then its realy dirty.

working on notebook or desktop is not game choice....
    its api choice....

bft 4 not support mantle enduro but some mantle supported software ( sample swarm demo ) can do it....

is there desktop mantle and enduro mantle ??? is there a difference...

bf4 will not support enduo is amd's "escape tactic". amd will not planning mantle support for enduo/powerxpress. because may be performance very bad on notebook.

but we will think "yes. mantle very good when done for notebooks" no.... this is lie.

mantle not working good with notebook.... may be good but performance difference is not important like desktop.

Totally wrong, notebooks equipped with a10-4600/a10-5750 and HD7970m/8970m and now r9-290m will get considerable upgrade in performance once Mantle supports them.
