I love my 290x to death, I don't know what I would do without it. :)

    ROFL! :D

290 or 290x, 290 I'm guessing right? As the price difference is just.. overclockable.

Yea 290 non-X -after reading / watching reviews, it looks like unless you're running 1440p+ there's not much point spending another £100 for the X version

    OC3D review said in BF4 there was only 1fps between the 290 and 290X - I assume that was @ 1080p

If I had the extra £££ for the 290X I'd probably have gone for it anyway, but I don't think I`ll be disappointed with the 290 from everything I've seen :)

It's a great card for the money, you really can't go wrong. Looking forward to hearing some impressions.

Fingers crossed Im not waiting all day for it to arrive, I can feel it's gonna be another one of those days where every little noise makes me go to the front of the house to check it's not a "Sorry we missed you" card lol

Been there, makes me rage just thinking about it. I once got up and made a cup of coffee while waiting, open plan kitchen/living room, only the view out front was obscured when in the kitchen. I hear my letterbox go as though the post has been delivered, no knocking or doorbell use, only to walk back into my living room and see the delivery van pulling away. Sure enough there was a note on the floor.

I actually specify that I want the driver to text/call me when they're outside my propertly when possible now. Too many bad experiences. :p

Yea I've heard similar stories from Couriers like CityLink, who incidentally kept my 6850 a few years ago for 2 weeks even though I had paid for next day Saturday delivery

People sitting in the front room watching the door all day only to find on their website that the driver claims he had knocked and got no answer - not even a card although the site said one was posted

I've been asleep when they've knocked, and still totally out of it falling down the stairs with trousers around my ankles trying to get dressed on the way to the door screaming WAIT!! IM HERE!! Almost killing myself on every possible object between the bedroom and the door, can't open my eyes enough to find my keys, and finally manage to get the front door open and it's some tw4t trying to sell me double glazing windows

Get a dog, I never miss a delivery, dogs always go mental when someone comes anywhere near the front door lol. I could be asleep and they would wake me :) kinda sucks when you just want to sleep

Wahahah rofl :D That's hilarious man.

So, the conclusion is that the X ain't worth it? Cause I got 1440p and I'd rather have a single card tbh. (If you guys understand me. :D)

    So I was thinking a 290x or.. a 290.

OR.. if I can find a 7950 super cheap I'll get that, lol. :p But end sum will just about be the same tbh. Selling my 7950 off.

2x 7950 ftw lol. But seriously, if not that, a 290 will be the better choice over 290x.

lol w00t XD:D haha. :D lol thanks guys.

    Hmm well.. I'm thinkin, yeah. Lol cheapest 290 is 385 € GIGABYTE one, O,O Cba going gigabyte again? XD:D Want a change rofl. :D Tri-X is 419€ and 290X Tri X 515, Gigabyte 479.

So yeah.. there you have it, if I sell my 7950 off it'll be ~(230)€ - 385 = 155 euro I pay extra.

And so on and so on.. getting a 2nd 7950 would cost me... 200 euro +-. I think, if all goes well.

    So yeah.. there's that.

Thats suprising to hear the Gtx 760 being weak! I would think for sure it would be faster then the 7870!? .......... Iam wondering if a 760 ti is in the works in teh near future?

Beta drivers, the newer the better for my 290. Even though they are "beta" I've had zero problems with loads of games, running each new version as it's released... the 290 is a very fine product.
