Actually according to that early leak it have 6144cores, not 4000 something.. 384cores per SMX. http://pastebin.com/jm93g3YG And that Denver build-in ARM co-processor won't be available for quite some time, only after Maxwell refresh next year @ 20nm, maaaaybe in Q4 2014.. Mid-range GM104/108 or what ever it will be called in Q1 2014 won't have it, that's reserved only for high-end.
That math don't work. 24x384=9264 Something is lost in translation. For the total core count you posted it would be 256 cores per SMX.
So every single maxwell release 1st quarter is midrange?? By that logic the lowest end maxwell will have the same performance as the highest end. My guess is there will be entry level mid rang and high end released early this year. Just because something with more performance is going to be released months later does not make an entire maxwell series midrange.
The 780 is performing well I'm still looking for the sweet spot for my oc I'm only getting +100 to the core stable but it was starting to crash with 6800 mem on battlefield. =/ I have to say this gpu is great only 56c playing for and hour and a half only 60-65 gpu usage for bf, 100 usage on games like far cry 3 57c =).
Well, I swapped the TIM from my card to MX-4. Cooler was easy to remove. Screws weren't tight at all. It looks like changing the TIM made small difference but nothing dramatic. It's impossible to keep it below 70c at decent noise level. Not sure if it's the weather or TIM change but I've never seen this idle at 25c before.
when I took my coolers off to put block's on them , most screws were only finger tight , should be something that is checked coming out of the box if using the stock cooling. mine idle at 20-21c load 30 to 35c
Hm.. So changing TP on Windforce isn't that hard and safe? I'll try later then. I'm a biggest newbie and I'm afraid to void the warranty. Anyone knows if ordering a backplate from EVGA to Russia is possible? I can't find any in "biggest country"
I don't know how to take off the cooling system. Just remove all screws? Much easier with reference :giggle2:
Earlier inquiry about the acx I got the same card I can only hear the whine if all sounds is off and only at 45-50% fan and it's not that loud at all on my card. I read about the whines of others who have these cards and they sometimes have worse whines than most. If it's too loud I'd rma it. Overall though evga not to bad for the new cooler I perfer the windforce though but my next card will be msi twin frozer to check it out.
