This is 1st time I hear about DP FP performance boost from Mantle. Now I am officially sad and going to cry myself a river in darkest corner of my circular bed.

And btw, locked LoD thingy feels strange, can someone elaborate on it?
I really would be crushed if I can't no longer force my D2 - LoD to ram 6 GameBoys together.

I would love such a card. Imagine EVGA Kingpin with 6GB VRAM. That card would cost a small fortune! I would guess like ~1000€

the argument I see there is the ego style e-peen vs the actual useful person. One would say "buy the bling" where the other would say "buy what makes sense". For the gtx 780 ti 6gb=ego e-peen. The power supply issue for me is making sense. Fox said it himself, component parts at "overclocked" wattage or higher wattage than stated on a psu at long term use will brick a psu=Doesn't make sense. Yes we have nvidia and psu sites overstating the fact of high wattage psu. The question that comes to mind is this "are you a high stakes gambler or do fall under a preventative mainentance personality". Me, I am preventative maintenance. Safe than sorry. And doing it not being blind as a bat. Yes, I could use a 750 watt psu. Am I willing to risk it regardless of what is said. No. You may see stubborness in my wording. I like to treat my pc like a kind hearted lady. Mutual Benefit usefulness and it makes me happy by having the pc as a tool for entertainment.

course power consumption is going to go up overclocking the gpu, but were talking about gk104 here, they arent that power hungry.

yeah, they're not as leaky as tahiti are when overclocked/overvolted.

this is all you have to take from it: My previous 780@1241/7300 with my 3770k@4.6, 16GB ram at 2400Mhz, H100i, 4 Megaflow's, 2 Skythe's 110cfm and an Aerocool shark 140mm, 3 HDD's(2/3/4TB) was using about 400w(with VSync OFF) when measured from the wall and about 340w with VSync ON.

not that it matters anymore, you have your 760, but you could have gone 770.

I could run my current system on a good 750W unit.

I guess my real fear stems from owning a r9 280x before selling and buying a gtx 770. I was on the rage3d forums and had the same talk about 2 280x's with a 750 watt. Some were saying yes and some saying no to 750 watt powering two r9 280x's.

some will tell you that even one 280x requires 750w.

It's all good man if your not comfortable with it that's fine. It just that we were saying that it would work.

Hint for...erm the Captain: Double Precision is not used in games.

Hint 2: AMD's Hawaii GPUs have semi-crippled compute as well. Look at how *well* they mine relative to the Tahiti GPUs.

They're all going the way of the dodo with compute which is bad for us, good for them.
