Nice avatar. I heart Mr. Bungle. Also, the internet is not big enough for a list of my favorite childhood games. Let's just say I liked a lot of the good ones, and some of the bad ones too.
Armored Warriors SD Gundam GX (liked it enough that I bought Super Famicom and the game on ebay for $300+ in late PS2 era [because emulation for it was broken due to some special chip it used]) Dune 2 Warcraft (used to go into friend's house to play when they were not at home) Command and Conquer Anything later I wouldn't have experienced during my childhood.
Out of all the games everyone has listed, I haven't encountered atleast one person to have listed ROADRASH as on of their favorites...........wasn't it good enough for any of you??? It was prolly the first game i had ever played and have loved it until now
I was in college when road rash was out . I am old enough to have played the og pong in the actual unit my aunts bf had it and got to borrow it and play it for a weekend. never got an atari it was too expensive for us so i had my hand held games which was not unusual at the time. think i got a c64 when i was in 6th grade, upgraded to a 128d when i was in 8th grade or early hs. of the sega years road rash would be up there with sonic, mortal combat, twisted metal, sega nhl games were epic.
Some more I forgot to mention: Twisted Metal Soldier Of Fortune & Soldier Of Fortune Double Helix Mortal Kombat Tekken, Tekken 2 & Tekken 3 Worms, Worms 2, Worms 3D Super Mario Teenages Mutant Hero Turtles Crash Bandicoot Donkey Kong Sonic, Sonic & Knuckles Simpsons Streets Of Rage, Streets Of Rage 2 & 3 Batman Space Invaders Frogger Onslaught Wrath Of The Demon
1)Max Payne 1 2)Fighting force(first out for PS1 later for PC) 3)War craft-reign of chaos 4)GTA VC 5)The Punisher 6)CS 1.5
Oh boy, there was so many games.. I guess gaming used to be more fun back then, as these days it seems almost nothing is good enough. PC: - SimCity for MS-Dos and later SimCity 2000 - Duke 3D - Warcraft 2 - C&C: Red Alert - HoMM2 NES: - Zelda 2 - Mega Man 2 - Contra 1/2 - Duck Tales 1&2 - Super Mario 1 & 3 SNES: - Super Mario World - Killer Instinct - Street Fighter 2 - Turtles in Time PSX: - Crash Bandicoot - Resident Evil 1 - Final Fantasy 7
It seems quite many here have also console "background". I never had any consoles :/ Which I guess has deeply impacted what games I liked, and still like.
Really I don't know where to begin, there are many games which really hold some fantastic times for me from way way back, here are a few. Mr.Do's Castle Double Dragon Another World Wrath Of The Demon Golden Axe Speedball 2 Hero Quest Space Marines Sensible Soccer Prince of Persia Bubble Bobble R-Type MAAAANY more.
the legend of zelda series legacy of kain series vampire the masquerade redemption diablo1 screamer 2 c&c red alert wolfenstein slave zero shogo gta series and im ending the list now because ill finish next year literally
Some of us like myself cba to do it especially when these kinda threads popup like literally all the time. Just for the record... Jetpack Lunar Jetman Moon Patrol 3 out of about 3000.
Space Invaders Paratrooper Digger Rick Dangerous OutRun Wings of Fury Operation Wolf Winter, Summer & California Games Space Quest Pirates! Tetris Firepower - It took me a while to find this one, me and my friends used to call it just 'Tank'. Airborne Ranger I think Digger and Pirates! were the first games I played in 'full' 16 colors
Hey, nice thread! LOL. Being a relatively 'old person', there were no video games when I was a child, but the nostalgia for me would be (in no particular order): Star Wars Dark Forces (First game I ever played) Project IGI Jedi Knight Baldur's Gate Shogun Total War Medieval Total War Doom (1 & 2) Wolfenstein 3D Duke Nukem 3D Unreal Tournament (The original) Morrowind Half-Life Clive Barker's Undying Battlefield 1942 Probably quite a few more, but can't think of 'em right now. I'm off to a party. Happy New Year all.
When I was a child (1963) I played "guns" with my friends in the neighborhood. We would get together in one kid's garage and divide into two groups, then go off in opposite directions and begin our attacks. Each side had a map of the local area that included great places to hide or set an ambush. There was also important information such as which yard or house had a mean dog to avoid. Today this would probably get all of us sent to some juvenille facility or shot by police due to the realism of our guns. I had a Bazooka that I brought to school for show-and-tell. Imagine that! Seems like a different world compared to today.
