Yeah....seems daft now you mention it (couldn't afford even one anyway:)).

Finally got to grips with this twin 690 setup. Got back to 16Gb@2104max.
I was surprised to see how much bclk on the RIVE affects 3DMK11.
I have a good C1 3960x which I can get to 5.128GHz with a Kraken X60 water cooler, but changing from a bclk of around 120 to 131.5 got me from around P25400 to my max of P27046. I know this is no record but it's good to get there.

Did you manage to get the ram running at 2100mhz while running the cpu and 5.1ghz?

Did you manage to get it running all at the same time at these speeds?

Yes, I think I see what you mean. On the 3DMK11 page it shows 800 (x2 for 1600???) for each stick. Not sure how that happens. The POST screen shows 16Gb @2096.

........Unless my numpty side is taking over:3eyes:

I think it just reads the hardware ID and displays the default value 3dm11 always says my RAM is at 1333 and its at 1866. So don't even pay attention to that.

    Hi.

I can backup my 690 bios.

I tried using Nvflash and only got a 3KB file.

    Using GPU-Z said its protected.

Type in the CMD....Nvflash --protectoff....then try again with the flash. to enable it again do....Nvflash --protecton.

This should enable you to write/flash the bios to the card with no problems.

There is a full guide that i wrote on page 1 of this thread.

I think I read somewhere that the AB hack works on the 690? I could be wrong tho.. :p

    Yes that is correct.

Bios still cannot be manipulated on the 690 like it can on the Titan. No matter what you do you cannot go over 1.3v, i reckon any higher than 1.4 and cards will pop anyhow. It still woulda been nice to try going a bit higher.

I only bought this block as 2 people on another forum confirmed to me that it can be done to a certain degree. Got some Fujipoly Thermal Pads on the way also, the best that money can buy. Should be able to get this card to atleast 1250mhz or more for 24/7 use.

That will be a great overclock. It will walk all over my setup at that speed. Wish I could add some more volts to my cards. One has the voltage regulator that can be manipulated the other don't.

you can expect a rough estimate of 13mhz for every 13mv of voltage

I remember you posting this thread before...

I know that the Keplar bios unlocker and KGB unlocker do not work for the 690 but they do for the Titan. Skyn3t from Oc.net has had no success with the 690 bios over the Titan. However i did not know that you could do it with MSI until recently and that thread is around August 2013, wish i would found it sooner. As usual there is no concrete guide for people that want to do this, everyone talks in riddles, so here is an easy to follow guide that i have posted below which takes all of the guess work out of the process....

    Hopefully, that is the plan.

Also here is how to do it for anybody that is thinking of doing it.
I will update this info on opening post of this thread....

Caution you do this at your own risk and its not adviseable to do this unless your gpu is on water as the temps are high enough on air as it is!!
    Open x:\programfiles\MSIafterburner\Profiles\

if u set a profile and save it : you should normally had the following strings in here : "VENXXX.cfg' and other VENXXX*.cfg
    for example :

    VEN_10DE&DEV_1004&SUBSYS_104B10DE&REV_A1&BUS_1&DEV _0&FN_0.cfg
    VEN_10DE&DEV_1004&SUBSYS_104B10DE&REV_A1&BUS_2&DEV _0&FN_0.cfg

if Not please set STOCK SETTING in MSI AB : STOCK SPEED , POWER TARGET TO DEFAULT AND FAN SPEED TO DEFAULT ALSO

save the settings in profile 1 for instance. !

Close ALL MSI AB TABS , and the software itself
Add in the bottom of any configuration file the following part:

    [Settings]
    VDDC_Generic_Detection = 0
    VDDC_NCP4206_Detection = 3:20h

So you have to do it on each *.CFG you will have in the Profiles directory.

Now if everything is ok, next time you'll restart MSI AB, a popup window will display with the sentence " You should restart the computer otherwise MSI AB will not detect properly the speed and the fan configuration ...... "

click on "NO" ( U don't want to restart the pc, indeed you prefer forcing the detection right now !)

MSI AB wil pop up briefly disapears and pops up again... (look at the voltage tab) : AUTO should be written, moving the slider will display REAL VALUE in starting from 0.80V to 1.30V maxed out. The 690 maxxed out at 130 applies ot the 690 and not the Titan.

Also somethin else to try regarding LLC and Vdroop.....

Create a shortcut with this line .. and add it to your autostart folder
    Code:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner\MSIAfterburner.exe" /sg0 /wi3,20,de,00 /sg1 /wi3,20,de,00"

This line disables the LLC/VDroop, but it adds 0,025V to your Settings.

Everything you do is at your own risk, not advisable on air setup!

Also a quick question for you guys....
Is it ok to remove the thermal pads from the waterblock and place it with TIM because im not getting a good connection on one of the PCB's because i think the thermal pads are alittle too big ie 1mm instead of 0.5mm.
