Nvidia GeForce test version 2 for 460/560 GPUs

I really really look forward to the final driver with the fix....

And a very big thank you to ManuelG for being really awesome.

 

+1 people were saying all over the place that they wouldnt bother fixing this issue as the cards are old its nice to see nvidia take time out to try and fix whatever is/was causing the problems

Only problem with this driver is vsync doesn't work when using the frame rate limiter in Nvidia Inspector.

 

Yup, because it just adding the fix to the driver, so the bug on the official release also bring to the test driver.

 

In the last Email from Manuel i see the Email addresses of 306 persons who are testing this test driver.

 

Works great for me this driver, no issues in desktop/browser or games

 

Only tested in "desktop" for a couple of hours now.. so far no real crashing and ****, but driver was just as useless for BF4 as any of the new 331 drivers is for me..

Back to 314.22 for now

 

How do you play BF4 with old driver? It says that I can't play because my driver is old....

 

I'd check OC's if any, and maybe look for a BIOS update for the video card/MB. Update MB chipset drivers too if you have not.

What exactly is happening in BF4?

 

AFAIK only warns you that you have an old version, just Accept it and play.

I played BF4 Single Player when it was released with 314.22 without problems

 

I have played BF4 with 314.07 just fine , you do get pop up warning but just close it .
I have since moved to 331.82 but honestly while it may be a tad better all Bf4 issues are still there and most, at least for me are non video types .

Sound loop freeze and sometimes loading map freeze , its very random ,can play for hrs sometimes but generally after 4-5 runs it will get ya .

 

It took Nvidia 1 month to fix the "Desktop instability with some Geforce 460/560 GPUs"

Version 331.58 WHQL release date: 21 october 2013.

The 2nd test version 331.58 is from 21 november 2013.

i hope the next time the driver has problems nvidia doesnt wait 5 months to start testing.

Latest working geforce driver was 314.22 release date: 25-03-2013.

The next geforce driver was 320.00 Beta release date: 23-04-2013.
This beta driver came with the big bug.

Then came geforce 320.14 Beta release date: 13-05-2013.

And after 2 Beta's the geforce 320.18 WHQL driver was released.
Release date: 23-05-2013.

From 23-04 to 23-05 people had 1 month to report this bug to nvidia and nvidia could take action.

From 23-05 to 21-10 (= 5 months) noting happend.

 

This is 100% Accurate.

I am just so happy that soon there will be a WHQL driver that I can be content with on Windows 8 and play BF4 with it.

I am also happy this desktop freeze problem is fixed and maybe still under furder investigation, and future drivers will have a more stable desktop.

I am not happy with the 5 months of "noting happend" it only took nvidia 1 month of testing to partly or compleet fix this problem.

Nvidia's words are "we cant reproduce the problem" and that from a company that sells GPU's. How hard is it to get a 560 TI factory O.C. card from Asus???. instead of asking your customers.

 

331.93 apparently contains the fix from the 331.58 test driver.

Awesome drivers, no firefox freeze problem since 3 days.

 

Is it just me, or do these drivers causing alot of freezing in different games?

For example:
Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed
Sonic Generations
some Lego games
etc..

The Lego series is barely playable, Sonic on the other hand is a total no-go...
