Hi, I have a ASUS GTX560 Ti DC2 TOP and as stated all over the forum the most stable driver for it is 314.22, the newest drivers nyerk my system and make it unstable. My question is about the PhysX driver, I would like to know if anyone has tested installing the nVidia 314.22 without the PhysX driver that comes with it and then installing the latest PhysX driver which is the 9.13.0725. If anyone already tested this, is it stable? Thank you!
What does this help with ? Do games with physX run better , I think I only have 1 game right now with support , BL2 .
Game developers can use PhysX as library for calculations - to avoid extra work for themselves. As for "better" - try disable PhysX usage in BL2 and compare. Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWFkDrKvBRU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9k1idbbr2pw
I know what PhysX does , I just wanted to know if newer version performs better . I'll check vids though . Yes, on high it take a hit, I think I have mine on med which is good balance .
Well, 3.x versions of PhysX supposed to be optimized in CPU code (SSE, automatic multithreading), and be the driverless.
3.x ? he's talking version 9.13.0725 and for example I run 314.07 which comes with 9.12.1031 or you mean 3.xx.xx+ Nvidia driver pack .
I meant internal versions numbers of PhysX SDKs. 9.13.0725 - is package version. Package has inside several binaries which related to several SDK versions (which fix some faulty binaries from previous installations).
Oh, Ok , the SDK , well quick look and they been on 3x for while so my version I am pretty sure was under 3.x as its about 6-7 months old . I could always extract new physX from new driver and run it if I wanted . Thanks anyway .
Not sure if this helps by now, but I would just pick the latest version and use that with whatever driver works best.
