I had three hard lockups already in about 1 hour playtime in BF4 MP. I am reverting back to BETA 8.

Maybe for lower end cards def not the 7970M, its a downclocked 7870 desktop GPU.

the 7 series cards do not support DX 11.2 level 2 they only support level-1 this apply 's to every card up to the 290
the 290,290-PRO and 290X are the only cards that support DX 11.1 level-2
this is a hardware limitation and is not something that can be addressed via driver

Has any1 tried the BO2 profile with Ghosts and disabling "Surface Format Optimization" in the CC settings? I don't own either just a thought.

Doubt it would make much difference tho.

Actually no it isn't a hardware limitation at all for the 7000 series as it's already embedded...

Driver Update Will Add DirectX 11.2 Support to AMD Radeon HD 7000 Series GPUs

    Does this even matter?

The demo Microsoft showed for 11.2/tiled resources was running off a GTX 670, which only supports 11.0 on the hardware level.

And just what do you think you would need DX11.2 for anyways? Even if you could use it? Fapping to your DxDiag screen?

Nothing uses it now, and likely won't for quite awhile (an exclusive for a <10% installed user base? Economic suicide for whatever dev tries it). It will be long enough that your laptop will be woefully out of date and you won't be able to run what will make use of it.

It seems to be that way for a lot of NVidia optimized titles. Crysis 2 the witcher 2 for a couple examples played like trash for along time till they came out with patches. (edit) batman arkham city dx11!

So far so good in World of Tanks and League of Legends.

Content removed because trolling and insulting other users is tolerated for some people in this forum. I do not stay in places where such behaviour is tolerated and everything I did in such places is removed.

    @The Mac & other 7790 User

All the last 4 betas are ain't working properly with my 7790. This happens since they changed drivers for Win 8.1. I'm on Win7 x64.

Here's my procedure; uninstalling the present driver, reboot in save mode, using DDU, reboot, installing the new one. I only install the driver & CCC from the driver pack, don't need the other stuff.

Sometimes I get a tray message: Driver stopped working. Sometimes the screen goes black and system reboots. All benchmarks are way to low. Kombustor drops from 98 to 60.

So back to 13.11 B1, or any driver before and system is stable again. My windows installation is a half year old, when I bought the 7790. So there is no old driver crap in it.

No change with Call of Duty Ghosts, still have to disable crossfire for it to be playable, pointless update.

I got rid of the stuttering in BF4 by disabling hyper threading in bios and unparking all my cpu's using this utility - made everything smooth and gave me an average 20 fps boost.

just realized that 13.11 beta series fixed the port royale 2 (GOG) not launching at all :) .

Railroad tycoon 2 (steam) and Gangsters (GOG) still not fixed :(

Edit : oh and Arkham City Cutscenes are still stuttering, the only work around for now is increasing the RAM speed, but then i need to reduce my clock speed below stock clock, somehow doing that improved the cutscenes.

    1. stop doing that

    2. use DDU from normal windows. take option one, let it do its thing. It will reboot, and install generic vga drivers.

    3. install new drivers

    4. open DDU and re-enable updates.

    5. report.

just had a BSOD, it said Driver IRQL is not less or equal.

and i was ingame replaying metro 2033 (i'm at the station that got overrun by mutants), i wonder what went wrong.....

the only thing i changed is i installed 13.11 beta 9.2 last night (using latest DDU), and i was already replaying metro 2033 since a few days ago, when i'm still using 13.11 beta 6 and never had BSOD for the duration.

with 7790 we have serious problems...
    Black screens.
The last working driver (windows 7) is 13.10 beta 2 or 13.11 beta 1 (but with memory clocks stuck).
