I did yes, x8 and x16 Gen 2.0 and I could not notice anything significant enough to make a difference.

I am waiting too :/ But I'll continue to wait because price + BF4 premium is almost steal.

And as for tests of difference in pure graphics performance I prefer AvP 2010, because it is relatively heavy on GPU, but it's very light on CPU.

pcie 2.0 lanes are not saturated yet from any card, hence why pcie 3.0 doesn't show much improvement.
As for being ready, your cpu overclocked will do fine, a haswell overclocked will do even better.
But that's always the case with newer hardware. It will always outperform the older tech.
The differences however are minor with intel.

That's also why the general consensus is to not upgrade sandy bridge 2600k for a haswell.
Maybe the next generation will proof to be a real upgrade from sandy.

Anyway, overclocker sites say the same about it, no real gains from pcie 3.0 over 2.0.

I cancelled my order. The shop could not tell me when the cards will arrive. I will wait till december and order two 290X non BF4 editions then. Only BF4 editions are "available" now.

That will spare me about €160,-. :)

I'm sure you can still send them back if you don't want them?

I got about 14000 in 3D Mark 2013 Firestrike. In the Guru3D review two 290X's got 16000. Is my score correct?

And my GPU's are making weird sounds when they are rendering 3D images. Is that normal?

youre forgetting one thing, guru3d review is done with a 3960X for cpu. that will score a fair bit more in physics compared to your cpu, giving higher p score. I did mention this in the 290 review thread, I think Hilbert should add the graphics score for 3Dmark scores.

What is your graphics score in Fire Strike? I scored 16323 graphics score with a meh overclock on my rig.

If you want to compare results, then you have to count in CPU,MB, ram speed difference.
Because tests on 2011 with 4 memory channels tends to be different from 1155 dual channel.

I like Luxmark, OpenCL test which can tell you how well it does. And runs workload only on selected device.

Preview Driver is driver on which we all saw original tests before launch. And which made me buy this Card. So you can see Nicely how it evolved.
GHz means that Test was no longer done on Stock Clocks, but on 1050/1500MHz.
For Consistency I did test 2 to see not only jump in performance done by driver, but to see performance from clock increase too:
    Code:
    HD7970 AMD 2012-04	1687 92%
    HD7970 AMD 2012-07	1885 97%
    HD7970	GHz	AMD 2012-07	1999 97%

I am noticing something weird. In my 3DMark result under graphics card details it states that my GPU has 3GB of VRAM, while in my AMD driver I have 4GB?

EDIT - Crysis 3 is still not running that great, it is one bad coded game. BF4 runs great. :D

Cool that you enjoy the new candy, Crysis 3 is a bit of a bitch with NV as well.

Thanks Hilbert! How much did you get in the 3DMark 2013 graphics score?

21.5k graphics score in Fire Strike is great, that's 5k more than me, which is about right! you have a beastly rig right there. Enjoy! :)

    Nice,

I see you have only 8700p by physics, OC that cpu a little. My 4770k @ 4.7ghz has 13460p :)

I will in the future, when I need it. I actually don't like stressing my PC more than necessary.
