i got 2 asus gtx 770 in sli. i got 1080p monitor. im planning to get higher resolution but i dont know if 2gtx 700 sli can run 2560-1440? because i only got 2gb of ram each

Yep it supports that res, how it performs though depends on what you're running. But yeah it def supports the display.

what do you mean im running? yes im running 2 gtx 770s
and plan to upgrade to 2560-1440. how about for the next 2 1.5years?
or upcomming games. i only have 2gb each so those vram will bottleneck the performance?

From performance pov you're just fine. But there are games which may suffer performance hits on such resolution due to 2GB vram.
But main contributor to required additional vram is not this resolution, but Anti Aliasing which require much more memory on higher resolutions.
I guess for 1 year it will be OK if you can sacrifice AA, later texture/shadow details. In the end you'll have to sacrifice resolution too.

No they should run Counter Strike just fine. :3eyes:

Idk??? What performance ? You haven't even named an app or game....but yeah 2GB should be sufficient for most games at that res.....barely.

Be gone foul spirit. 1440p which has superior IQ.
And no GSync will not make games look smooth on 35-40fps as in nV demo. You live in dream fake world made by them. They even faked no vsync tearing in that demo.
That demo shown what it is supposed to do in way they believe it will do.
If that was working setup, they should have compared Counterstrike 1.6 on 40fps limit GSync vs 120fps@120Hz no vsync.

Everyone would laugh at them. because 40fps is downright terrible without motion blur.

Now for real. 1440p is really nice bump if you want IQ. since you are thinking about 2nd 770. You can sell one you have and get 780 which will last for next 2 years and such transition will cost you less than 2nd 770.
Or you can wait for 780Ti effects on market (if any) to get nice value r9-290(x). There is chance that if you sell 770 at good price 780Ti will not cost you much more than 2nd 770.

    Lol you sound so cut.
There were multiple developers and reviewers at the event including Hilbert, they also tested Tomb Raider on it.

Only one living in a "dream fake world" is you at the moment. I'll take the information from people that were actually there and tested it over yours.

if they stay on a reference card 780ti. no i dont like the reference due to i like using overclock. and i really dont like reference card even how fast they are.
i dont like too much noise and heat

why they are showing it? if its not useful as you said?
so you mean that your smarter than all the developers/makers/and programmers? lol so funny how amd fanboys bitching nvidias innovation
too bad its only kepler for g-sync:banana:

If you want to run lots of AA in modern games the 2GB 770s will not do imo.

You would need 4GB versions for 4XMSAA in most games at 2560X1440.

Far from fanboism. I would not advised you to consider 780(Ti).
If you saw that "tech demo" on yt, you would realize limitation of such.
I explained in some details things which were wrong in it in it's own thread.
I am 120fps@120Hz gamer. I rather sacrifice some IQ and keep fps because I can tell you difference between 90fps/120fps unless motion blur conceals it (and I disable it if it's possible in game).
I do not consider 120hz to be sufficient and would buy today 240Hz screen which is technologically possible via DP 1.2MST and new HDMI standard available on R9-290(x) cards.
I can tell difference even on desktop just by moving mouse around.
Most people here will tell you 40fps v-sync or not is down right terrible. But in that "tech demo" it looked so nice.
You can simulate g-Synced 40fps on any v-sync 120Hz without problem. It will still be terrible due to low frame rate. That demo looked good because it was fake (motion blur).

Thing which GSync brings to table is complete elimination of tearing regardless fps while showing all what you can render. And tearing in that demo was artificial too, because tearing does not stay permanently on middle of screen just for you to see it. It travels and most times is not visible. And it's effect is decreased by higher refresh rates.

Trick of that "tech demo" was that they made people believe 40fps with gsync is fluid and sufficient. Therefore good enough for let say GSynced 4k Display with GPU capable to pull only 35~45 fps on it.

They could have brought CS1.6 to table. It can limit FPS perfectly, via command line, and as they had it on keys they could have bind different keys for different limits too.

As for your decision, it's yours to make. Even while I believe 770SLI makes more heat than 780(Ti) and while 780 is not much more powerfull 3GB vram makes and will make even bigger difference in future.
Unfortunately for some AMD is moving 3GB vram to mainstream. They are making 4GB vram very affordable with r9-290.
This means that developers will soon look at 2gb vram as low end, will make games which will suffer greatly once AA is used on 2gb vram no matter how high total power card has under hood.

I personally am thankful for this vram shift, because we need it.

I think the Vram talk is overrated. What is needed is more higher ram bits ! AMD steps in the right direction with 512bit ram.

You are right about bit (bandwidth). But this on other hand increases hit on card with lower amount of vram.

right now we have on High End around 300GB/s link between vram and GPU.
While PCIe 2.0 is capable to do up to 16GB/s; 3.0 up to 32GB/s between card vram and system memory (CPU).

Truth is my HD7970 can fetch textures from system memory to vram on PCIe 2.0 at 4.5GB/s.
    - If I did not have enough vram and needed 300MB block of data (texture).
    - it would take 0.066s to move it to vram and then card would use it to render (one frame at 60fps - 0.0166s)
    - resulting in hitch of 0.083s, which basically degrades momentarily performance to 12fps

So while bandwidth may have linear impact on total available graphical power, absence of vram has big impact no matter how high bandwidth between GPU/vram is.

That is beauty of PS4 and one day in future Full speed HSA - to share resources at very high or even full speed.

fwiw i am running a single gtx770 on a 2560x1440 screen while i don't play online/competitively running pretty much everything maxed out with aa and it feels smooth enough (i don't check fps)
