No it was kinda underwhelming but later it caught its stride with driver improvements.

Indeed, i remember it well, and now all the same Nvidia people who had their fun back then, are now crying because Nvidia's getting a lot of stick, whinging like hell they are, well, if you can't take it........ :p

Pointing things out with logic is whining like heat and noise.

I doubt nVidia would have cut the GTX780 price if R9 290X heat and noise was a real issue. After all, they did design the GTX 480 with high temps in mind.

I think they are holding back the prices until the launch of the Ti on the 7th.... at least for the gtx 780. Amazon is keeping all the 770 at the same prices, except for galaxy and PNY.

We aren't worried high temp (I got max ~92 ºC@100% fan running Furmark test at past summer - ~29 ºC-room :D) but my GTX 480 is still working about almost 3 years. :)

^If this is true can't wait to see the benchmarks the 7Ghz GDDR5 is a nice touch as well. We shall see if this comes to pass.

Good, I kinda expected it either full 15smx or crippled like titan 14smx.. And 3GB ram.

Hopefully its based on newer GK180 arch as well

Single precision for sure, Double Precision is crippled like by 780GTX.

    780GTX vanilla has 4.0tflops/s
    780GTX Ghz edition has 4.7tflops/s
    Titan has 4.5tflops/s
    780Ti probably +5.6tflops/s
