For the foreseable future only EA games with frostbite engine will use Mantle.

Let's face it, hardware PhysX is pretty awful unless you have two or more GPUs and can dedicate one solely to using it as it causes erratic performance (severe fluctuations in the framerate) even when there's nothing really going on. I think NOT using it is preferable for most. ;)

Have you played through metro LL with your 780?
imo metro ll is most impressive graphically game ever made and it's cause of the PhysX.
the extent of fc3 is impressive too, loads of work went into that game.

I disagree with the premise that Physx needs two GPUs in order to offer good performance.
In my case a single high-end GPU has always been more than enough for a minimum of 30fps.
My GTX470 could run Batman AA maxed out with Physx at 50-60fps, same with a GTX570 and Batman AC (in DX9 since DX11 was broken), even Borderlands ran at 45fps with everything cranked to max.

I have no doubt my 770 will do very well for Arkham Origins.

Anyway, to get back to AC4 I trust Kiev to optimize the PC version this time around. AC3 ran acceptably well on my setup (40-60fps with everything maxed at 1080p) and I have to say the game looked lovely.
I don't know if this has already been posted but :

Good to know that the PC version will look even better than the PS4/XBO versions. I wasn't expecting this to be honest.

Why is tessellation listed? I thought it would be a normal thing on the new consoles.

If Luc Poirier is to be trusted the PC version only features tessellation with regard to what he calls "advanced godrays" :

The PS4/XBO versions don't have tessellation it seems.

Nvidia is just listing the extra features that these games have implemented as part of their partnership with these developers. :)

They could've used it on the character models too but I guess it destroyed their performance :p

Character models need subsurface scattering more then tessellated ears if you ask me.
The skin shader is very disappointing in the footage released thus far.

This is the only complain I have pertaining to AC4, the game is visually pleasant (nice vegetation, detailed textures) but the faces are not as detailed as I would like.
At least, the game won't ask for a monster PC to be maxed out at 1080p and above.
The system requirements are strangely low at first glance but it dovetails with the visuals offered.

Not too bothered with faces. I wont be seeing characters face for the most of the gameplay :p

Hope this one will be good. Havent even completed AssCreed 3 yet. Will have to give it a run before getting 4.
