so if I dont have insurance, and I go to doctors. I will have to pay a fine along with the doctors bill? or does the government check monthly to see if you have insurance and fine you monthly until you get insurance?

When you do your taxes they have added new forms for Health Insurance information. The IRS is in charge of it.

Whats funny is people that dont even pay taxes like illegals get americade and dont pay at all.
When i had my son They looked at my insurance(is great plan) and looked at her americade and said they wanted that one....so they could charge the gov.(us tax payer)
No issues with the birth and it was 5 day stay,the other couples were no more then 3 days plus some told me that they had private health plans.

Yupper it seems the issue does indeed start at birth lol

If you don't have health insurance, you're paying a fine at the end of the year through your taxes. The IRS will get their money either way. If you don't pay your fine/taxes, you go to jail. So as it stands, not having health insurance has turned innocent people into criminals.

That is the real issue with Health Care in the US. Not people being uninsured. The costs are outrageous.

 

It really is insane, especially for something like an M.R.I. scan.

Right before I had my leg surgery, I needed to take some M.R.I. scans of my leg. The doctors after the scan wanted to know if I was willing to do a complete additional scan on my other leg just so they can be sure of the build without an additional appointment (which can take a long time) or billing (to the insurance).

That's the way Hospitals should operate.

P.S. - The cost to the M.R.I. to the insurance is around $850 USD for a breast cancer exam (the only quick cost I could find).

fact is usa spends second most money per capita on healthcare yet the efficiency is crap. And 17% of gdp goes to healthcare that is way ahead anything else in the world yet somehow wtf

 

and then the health marketplace site is getting hit so hard, it keeps putting you on wait pages and is having login problems.

 

What do you expect? The US healthcare is purely run for profit which goes into the back pockets of the people that run it

Just pick any developed country and compare to yours. Yours are outrageous. It doesn't have to be the lowest at all since yours the highest. The actual point is that the cost of medical treatment is outrageous.
