They are very soon.

Going on 4 years old. In terms of graphics cards that is old friend. Especially with the changes in Architecture and what the cards do through software.

Difficulties WILL present themselves with changes like we are seeing.

 

Yes, I did read your post. But you can't explain to me how the 400/500 series being older really warrants anything coming to driver stability- especially when you're starting to get into AMD's driver issues and decisions. What, you think there's too many resources being used to support a 3 year old graphic card? 400 series card was April 12, 2010. You want to talk about LEGACY, then let's TALK legacy, with the 6/7series, which they are still somewhat supporting.

 

When they become 5+ years old.. then they will be 5+ years old...

okay, I run grid2 benchmark and good news, it was 77 but now 82 and smoother. But Firefox crashed once, though I don't know whether or not it's because of the driver. I'll keep this for now anyway. Clearly better than 327.23 for me.

 

Not this again, just drop it and move on. Let others report issues like they usually do.

 

331.40 Beta works great with the 690GTX in BF3, pCars and X-Plane10.

If you have problems, please delete the prev. driver before you install a new one.

1) Download DDU
2) Go to Windows Control Panel
3) Delete PhysX, HD Audio Driver restart.
4) Delete the Graphics driver restart
5)Note; If you don't let windows restart after the second uninstall "driver uninstall" you could end up in a loop and have a real mess on your hands. Especially on windows 8, you should let it come up to the desktop the second reboot so windows has time to complete what you asked it to do. Then restart a third time "Then" go into F8 safemode.
6) Use the tool and boot to windows, now you can install the new one.

Will OpenGL 4.4 provide performance increase in Rage? Compared to OpenGL 4.3? Or is it only for games supporting OpenGL 4.4?

 

I think for games, if the game is made on a 3.x opengl doesn't have an effect.

 

In less than 10 minutes I had a system freeze during web browsing.
I waited for the usual Display driver stopped responding and has recovered error (like with any other 320.xx driver), but this time I got nothing... had to restart.

No trace in Event Viewer for the error, unusual :3eyes:

 

Do you are using OC on your cards ? If using OC test it on unigine heaven 2 loops and see what it does, if it crashes there you need to lower the OC.

 

I'm just going to assume this is going to crash my system like every single driver after 314.22 WHQL

I have fugged a couple of installs, not waiting for windows to complete it's tasks "Install WDM driver", which always ends in a messed up install. The rest your post is perfect IMHO.

Installed these drivers this morning. Nothing messed up, runs good. Seem fast and stable.

 

My 550ti system is actually doing ok, even with Firefox hardware acceleration enabled. But yeah, I still won't know for sure till a good week of usage.

Well, for once my system seems to be happy with these. SLI works, and no more Firefox freezes on pages with flash content after an extended gamig session. Keepers.

 

Well, the good news is that these no longer crash my 560Ti, neither in Firefox, nor on pure desktop. With previous versions I didn't even get to the famous 36 hrs before lockup.

The bad news is that I get a massive FPS drop in Skyrim, from around 40-50 avg to 20-30 avg. Back to 314.22, but now with renewed hope in a decent new driver.
