"Burial At Sea" Returns you to Rapture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZBm4JV75Sw&feature=youtu.be "Clash in the clouds" More boring combat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBuTreSStvg&feature=youtu.be
The first DLC sounds incredibly boring... an Arena/Horde mode. Gee, thanks, because this game's combat was definitely its strongest element... not. Seriously, I found the combat got extremely tiresome toward the end of the game, especially that last level, so the thought off fending of wave after wave of enemies just sends me to... ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Sorry... the second and third pieces of DLC sound great though so it's a shame they weren't released first and this forthcoming one last!
Was thinking about buying this during Steam Summer Sales, but i went with Dishonored which i finished yesterday. I did like the previous Bioshock tho, wonder if this is for me. (Interested in Single Player only)
It's the only part one can be interested in, since it's a sp only game. As for the game itself, it is good but a bit overrated. I liked the first 2 games more, the feeling of Rapture was simply brilliant, I even read the book that came out for it.
The arena DLC is out, 5.64 GB in total of which about 1 GB is for the audio localization and a entire 3.8 GB seems to be just textures.
http://steamcommunity.com/app/8850/discussions/0/846966336024978149/ Couldn't find the original thread since it's probably quite old but Bioshock 2 has been updated with Minerva's Den and should no longer be using GFWL.
2K was kind enough to give everyone who owns the game Minerva's Den I bought the dual pack from Amazon a month ago and now MD is registered to my Bioshock 2 DLC page Now, I hope to see it gone from the Batman games
Hopefully GTA4 will be next since I still can't use GFWL because something messed up when I changed my email address Glad 2K updated it, wonder if they'll include achievements for Bioshock 1?
I've just registered my BioShock 2 retail disc key on Steam and uninstalled the GfWL version. Good to know that not only has GfWL been removed but that controller support has been added too. So how will we know when other GfWL games have had the GfWL removed? I have over 20 such games, e.g. Lost Planet 2, Batman: Akham Asylum/City, Resident Evil 5, Red Faction Guerrilla, Bulletstorm and so on. Are all of those going to have GfWL removed and be migrated to Steam versions for existing disc/non-Steam versions? If not then am I suddenly find I cannot play them come July 2014? People who own Steam GfWL games have no concerns as the games will automatically be updated as and when but that doesn't apply to the other versions obviously.
Migrated to Steam sounds too good to be true actually but you're right, so far some games received free updates with GfWL removed.
What irks me a bit about BioShock 2 is that at launch loads of people, including myself, begging the developers to include controller support in the game (after all the first game had it) but we were told it wasn't possible because the game had been designed with mouse and keyboard in mind. Now three and a half years after it came out they decide to include controller support!!! The weird thing is that one of the requirements for Games for Windows titles (which includes Games for Windows LIVE) is controller support (where relevent) as well as widescreen support. So it was strange that the original game never had it when they already had a 360 version with a working user interface and button icons, etc. Still, better late than never, eh? I'm thinking that at some point, it might be a good idea to have a sticky in this thread for GfWL titles that have had GfWL removed and can be added to the Steam library for those of us who bought an alternative digital version or, as in my case, the retail disc version. I saw someone mention that the two Batman Arkham games will soon have GfWL removed but only Steam owners will get the update automatically.
