Iv'e already started modding the driver with files from that driver. The only thing that I haven't done is change the Version to 13.4.....in a few of my earlier Versions the driver pack was completely updated but I downgraded it for stability purposes. Depending on how well the current driver installs when not using Test Mode or Disable Driver Forcement Enable Signature will pave the way for future Updates.

Actually I take that statement back, I can do this without any issues since I already made the necessary changes to get around a previous problem that I was facing. So the not having to Enable Test Mode and Driver Enforcement Signature falls under making the driver more user friendly.

I have the same issue. for me v7.2 works good with 4870X2, and v8.4 or 8.5 (i think) gives good performance, mas only uses one GPU.

Dellon, Kev's and others finally gave some hope to unsatisfied users of all X2 cards. ATi/AMD just forgot about this piece of capable hardware.

Dellon and Kev are just great people for us. ATI/AMD is just a company which are thinking only about profit and income.

Sorry, I meant Image Scaling, it's for HD 5000 and 6000 users using a VGA Monitor.Info on Image Scaling . It should also be available to HDMI users....I'm not quite sure about laptop Users.

Hi, this is my first post on this forum.

First of all, I'd like to thank you dellon132 for your hard work on these drivers.

I have an HP pavilion dv6-3150ef notebook, loaded with dual switchable AMD graphics (4250 as low profile + 5470 as performance), and I updated my Win7 to Win8.
Getting my gpu working properly is a real pain.

I'm already downloading your 9.8.1 release, but I'll report my case with 9.6/9.8 anyway.
Maybe it'll get fixed with this version, maybe it won't, we'll see.

When installing old (2010) win7 hp/amd drivers thanks to compatibility mode, I get both gpu working, switching is alright too.

When installing your 9.8 in driver signature disabled mode, both gpu are installed, but only the 5000 is working, and the notebook is heating a lot.
When I try to switch gpu, I immediately get a BSOD.

In device manager, the 4k have a yellow mark, the 5k is alright.
I once managed to get the 4k activated instead of 5k, but I don't remember how, and I can't reproduce now. I since refreshed and restored/repaired win8 install alot.
I uninstalled the 5000 and rebooted, I think.
    That didn't worked every times.

Either the 4000 have the yellow mark, either the 5k.

I then deactivated the 5k, to only get the 4k.
I wasn't working either until I manually changed the 4k gpu driver to use:

I dropped the 4200 series, and used the 4200 series WDDM 1.1 instead.

This worked for 4k gpu, but no way to get back the 5k gpu from there.

HP/AMD officials, or your modded drivers, I often get a definitive black screen when installed gpu drivers, with nothing else to do than forced shutdown after waiting a while to be sure the driver is fully installed.

Any directions / advices are welcome.
Again, thanks for your work on that.

Well, let's see what happens with the 9.8.1 driver then we will continue from there.

If that method does not work, I have another method that should resolve the problem. I will probably include that method in my next build.

    EDITED
Did the change solve the problem or does the install bug still exist for your Switchable Graphic Setup?

Even though I know longer have the laptop, I hope I can provide insight. When I had the same setup, I had to install the 5k card first then the 4k card, but as long as dellon132 drivers has both cards in the inf and the atikmpag.sys is from the 4k card, then it should install. Since I can't test the new driver, I have no idea if any of that has changed. BTW when you installed the WDDM1.1 driver, did it come up an exclamation mark on the 5400 card because I had the same issue as the Microsoft .inf file contains both cards in the .inf file, but not the required atikmpag file to initialized the 5400. Hope that helps.

Actually, all of which you mentioned has changed. Now i'm in the process of creating method that would install the driver base on your method of installing the HD 5000 Driver first.

OK that is good. I didn't know if it was possible, if you didn't use the Atikmpag file that works with the 4k and 5k cards.

Initially I wanted use files that work with both cards. However none of them worked well for HD 5000 Users. if I remember correctly you reported many instability with Wddm 1.2 drivers....and when you did not report an issue someone else experienced a bug that made their Operating System Unstable
so the current method implemented is to provide HD 5000 and 6000 Gpu's with files that do work correctly for their Graphic Card and thus allow their Graphic Card to stay updated. This of course also applies to HD 4000 Users and below.

BTW, how is your Nvidia Graphic Card functioning so far?

Ok, here is the download link: Don't install through device manager just use the setup.exe

Replace the other files with the downloaded files.

This did not solve the issue. I cant found a release that work 100% for me but THIS one ATI Catalyst 12.11 B11 HotFix 9 Stable Release works very good except for the videoplayback. I cant watch any offline video with both cards, so can you do me the favor? If this issue can be solved i will use this version. Thanks!

I'll then report if working or not.

I'm really starting to get fed up with gpu / pc manufacturers.
Previous notebook was also an HP, don't remember the model, but a 2007 one with Intel Core2 Duo, 2GB ram and a Nvidia 7600Go (512MB dedicated ram).
Driver support was also really bad, only the "launch date" old HP drivers was ok, but poor performances at gaming with newer games, as gpu not updated.

I then started to use newer Nvidia drivers, .inf modded to get them installed and working on notebook (at the time, Nvidia did not even officially supported their notebook gpu !), got better performances.
But at a time I lost the audio over Hdmi since a driver version, and never got it back with more recent drivers.
Reverting back to previous Nvidia or HP drivers revived this, but worse gaming performance again.

Just add to this the massive overheating of these badly designed/manufactured Nvidia 6/7/8 series (and 9?) at the time, and I got 2 mobo and/or gpu replacement under warranty because of died gpu.

This made me swear that I'll never spend a buck on a Nvidia product again.

Now I have AMD, same old story.
Bad drivers support on said supported Win OS, dropped support with the very next Win OS, even worse Linux support, ... I'm just fed up.

Got scammed twice by both major GPU makers that have shown how much disrespectful of final users they were.

I really have no idea about which maker I could put my trust in for my next pc.
