Call of Juarez - Gunslinger

Darren, did you get AA working in game with that flag?

 

Incidentally, I got Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood free with Gunslinger and it runs flawlessly at 60 fps, granted it uses Chrome Engine 4. One bizarre issue I have though is the two of the loading intros, Techland and Chrome, plus the video that plays in the background on the main menu are... get this... upside down!!! What the heck! How did that happen?

 

No, see my post above. Use 0x30C1. It works great for me with 4xMSAA + Transparency Multisampling.

 

Im positively surprised by this game. Really fun, and the art style is great.

This is so fun! The feeling of the guns have a really nice "Umph" to them.

The art and the story telling is cool too.

 

Not sure why you are having problems. I have similar system and am running 250 fps at 2560 x 1440 so something is going on?

Love the music in this game and the art style suits the creaky Chrome Engine well. Even jaggies are not that bad but it looks nicer with 4xMSAA all the same.

Just picked it up from these guys now and am installing, so all is legit.

Note: Bound in Blood doesnt activate on steam, its a separate download which is provided by GetGamesGo along with a legit key for activation.

 

To me, this just shows how much love Techland have for the old west setting.
I remember some people from Techland making comments after CoJ: The Cartel came out about how they just kind of "phoned it in" and only did the modern day setting because Ubisoft wanted them to.

The difference in attention to detail and quality definitely shows it. It's why developers should be allowed to make the games they want to make... and not be forced to make something they don't have any passion for.

 

Do you get the keyboard stutter the same as dead island darren?

 

I'm playing with the Xbox 360 controller and the game has now decided it'll run at 60 fps without me having done anything except restart it so it feels very smooth, far more so than Dead Island or Riptide.

I think the 0x30C1 AA flag causes some artifacts though so I'll have to have a play around with some others to see if they work better. 0xF0C1 should work but it has a very high performance hit.

 

There's no keyboard stutter in Gunslinger that I've experienced.
It really feels like a much more polished and focused game then their previous couple of releases.

Yep, stutter here too. I found turning up mouse smoothing helped a little bit but i think the stutter is coming from the game rather than poor mouse input.

Though i've only played the arcade part so far, im really liking it. Quite happy to wait for a patch.
