lol yeah, exactly. You end up being like a mad maniac scientist or something rofl.

I'm thinking maybe I'll get some "gaming" keyboard as well, maybe the Razer Deathstalker here as it's the cheapest "gaming" keyboard here I can get, 55 euros. :D

Not sure if it's worth it though. What do you guys say?

And Poult, don't you think it's time to update those specs already? :D

Haha so true, when it arrives and its working, i'll update the specs :p
I've never had experience with the deathstalker tbh, there was a thread in the general hardware about the mechanical keyboards that someone was looking at, might be worth a look? I've got the Black Widow ultimate 2013 ed (12 quid)

Look into mechanical keyboards. If not, the Logitech g19 was cheap last time I saw it (think it was on Amazon) for £89.

eclap, I spent 3 months looking for a keyboard and a month looking for fans :p

Deathchild, if eclap doesn't mind, then you might want to discuss mechanical keyboards over on his topic, he recently opened a mechanical keyboards topic.

Lol, I know where you're coming from. I mean paying £140 for a keyboard is a bit obscene but the way I see it will last me longer than the rest of my rig so I went with the one that had everything I wanted.

    Deathchild, here's the g19 for £89.99 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/gbuk/pc-ac...ogitech-g19-gaming-keyboard-04136994-pdt.html

Great keyboard, best membrane one out there. I would look into mechanical keyboards though. They're an investment. It really depends on what exactly you want from a keyboard.

Ok alrighty guys, thanks for the heads up. What's the difference between a normal and a mechanical keyboard anyways? I'm a bit dumb in this area, don't know. :D I understand a mechanical keyboard is more sturdy, durable, lasts longer. Feels more quality too? I really don't know the exact differences. (I know google is my friend, but whatever)

Anyways I don't want to be spending too much on one (unlike some of you guys here:D). Just enough for a more normal quality one. (Tbh I would even get the Razer Deathstalker and be done with it.. since I kinda like the design of it:D)

But clap, why would you suggest getting a mechanical one?

(And sorry yasa if it's still ok, I'll discuss it here with clap)

I was looking for a new keyboard because after abusing my current g15v2 it's a bit mushy around the keys I use most in MMOs and ARPGs. So I decided to go with mechanical because they last longer. a mechanical switch has a lifespan of 10+ times more than a membrane keyboard. So once you buy one, you'll be sticking with it for a long time. They are also better in gaming because they can register more key presses at once (the G710+ has a 26 key rollover iirc which is more than I'll ever need).

That's why I called it an investment. It's value for money. Now I wanted a long list of features on mine (wrist rest, backlight, macro keys, volume control, brown switches etc) so I decided to buy the Logitech G710+. it was expensive, but it'll last me for ages.

I haven't received it yet, but from what I gather they're nicer to type on, also better for gaming. They're also usually much better built. Most of them have a metal plate going through them to make them rock solid. Also back lighting is more uniform because they have individually lit keys (unlike membrane keyboards). So yeah, they should be a lot nicer to use and they last forever. So I could have bought a G19 for £90, but I would be replacing it in 5 years.

From what I've seen, mechanical keyboards are more ergonomic as they have a better profile compared to mostly flat membrane keyboards. See a G710+ shot here https://d2npbuaakacvlz.cloudfront.n...710-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-1355862347.jpg

I suggested that topic since I wrote a brief explanation of mechanical vs. rubber and Veteran linked to an awesome mechanical keyboard guide.

    Some keyboard porn please! *applause*

Look at that beauty. That uniformity. Naked without her keycaps.

Friend had spilled juice on his Ducky Shine 2, so I disassembled this beauty:

That sleekiness. This is the metal plate eclap mentioned. Rock solid. Instant death if I were to bash someone on the head with it.

Hmm, the keys are sticky. So, here's me having a shower with my "Ducky":

Meet the Ducky Blub 2 :D

These things are so well built, modular, and repairable. Sticky key? Desolder and disassemble. Broke a key? No worries, buy some over at WASDKeyboards or similar:

I got the Gentle Typhoon AP15 1850RPM...of course I control them via SpeedFan, I generally run them at 650RPM. I'd say avoid lower RPM models as they might be harder to control via DC voltage control, as they might have resistors in series with the motor instead of being a different, slower motor.

Higher RPM models if fan controlled, lower RPM models if you're sure you want to run them at the rated speed and don't want to get into fan control (you will most probably regret such a decision, though. No exact RPM speed will give you what you need)

Consider the Noctua NF-P12s too. Especially for rads and heatsinks. They have directional airflow.

Gentle Typhoons are generally a favorite for watercoolers, but I don't exactly know how they compare to the newer NF-P12s.

GTs have aced radiator tests, beating even the best 140mm fans in airflow vs. noise. The Noctuas might have more pressure, though.

@eclap: Select models come with individually LED-lit keys. Mostly the high-end ones that feature some form of per-key control. Either true per-key control, or, let's say, like the G710+, lighting the WASD keys independently (although I can't confirm, are the other keys lit independently but lack per-key control?)

yes, there's 2 buttons to control the led lights. one is for wasd/arrow keys, the other one is for the rest of the keyboard. you have 4 light intensity settings for each cluster or you can have them off. Think I'll have my wasd/arrows a notch brighter than the rest of the keyboard. should look nice. Which mechanical keyboards have backlight but not per key backlight btw?

Hmmm, you might be right. Cherry MX switches have a place for an optional LED. It seems all lighting systems use per-key LED backlighting; however, the LED backlight control itself is not per-key for all keyboards.

    Would Amazon UK work?

Amazon have never disappointed me. Got a defective HDD after it was shipped overseas, they refunded item AND shipping costs! Friend got a defective RAM stick, they refunded without questions, since it would cost more to ship that stick back.

Someone I know got a defective 7950, they refunded item AND shipping costs ($90)!

    Etc...I'm a loyal customer.

Wow that's pretty amazing, ill have to check its the newer model they sell first :) I can't actually build this till 31st may (massive restraint on my part) so I might order the rest and just order the card when it comes in stock.
Is anyone running dual vapor-x 7950 on the gigabyte z77x-d3h? Want to know they will fit :p and it says it supports 1600mhz ram and then 2400mhz(oc) if I buy 1866 will it work?

Slightly worrying about funds, I can save roughly 100 or so by changing psu/ram/mobo the only difference would be I couldn't do crossings in future, will it make much of a difference running in crossfire?

Sorry for the double posting. But i think i am finally ready to make my order!!! :D

That is the build, everything that isn't in stock i will buy from another shop, and will be using deals to bring it to about 1200 exactly. My only question, 840pro is faster than the Vertex 4?
Anything else before i make my order? :D

That build looks fantastic to me. I'd stick with the 840 pro also, it's simply a better product. Are you sure you don't want to wait for Haswell? Not that there looks to be much difference. I mention it mostly as you seem to be planning on waiting a month or so before actually building it anyway.
