bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming seems to have broken other things too, i can see parts of the buildings and props missing, set it back to true and it all works normal :/
jup, hahha, me also just had this problem, and i thought WTF is going on here...turned down gfx etc etc.. Thanks for the info guys... I edited the Tweak list , so noone has to suffer this...
still bugged here...i changed it back to true and relaoded checkpoint, but still nogo..textures missing, people missing... ---> goes playing WarThunder....
weird. i have people, no texture missing or anything related....and its still on false. Maybe some used bUseTextureStreaming=False? Dunno ^^ Im now at Soldiers field, here are 2 screens. People in there, normal textures, events triggered (like stealing money in that ice cream shop from that register or when i entered the level the nacelle was moving)
Just finished the game. It was awesome, really..And quite big i would say.. The end was a bit weird though but that's what we're seeing these days. Graphics could have been better, but gameplay > graphics. 9/10
bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming = False Made specific area to stuck in loading screen. Changed back to ''True'' and it fixed.
the only way i fixed it was to set bUseBackgroundLevelStreaming=True and to start the game from the very beginning, a pain i know, but loading any of the previous checkpoints was still bugged out. problem is my game is now pretty unplayable with it set to true, a total stutter jerkfest :/
anybody has experience long time loading this mission? i wait for 2 minutes it doesn't load so can't play... never mind found what was causing the issue
It's all good here too and i've played for quite some time with it on false... I've even loaded earlier levels and everything is intact.
Well, she's definitely more interesting, I'll give you that. Anyway, I think the game looks beautiful. Amazing art directing. Story seems to be working (liking this one much better than the one in B1) so far as well. Just a little sad it's just a FPS. Would've made a great RPG.
I'm leaving my bUseTextureStreaming on false. I just can't stand stutters. If there's problems i will deal with them, but for now it runs just fine.
First level seeing 1.9gb vram usage without any AA, though not a gpu killer it would seem at this point. Looks incredible though, like a next-gen borderlands2.
try set ambient occlusion ULTRA me to remove all stuttering. it's weird but it works for me. Maybe under DX11 game run better...
Setting the Min and MaxSmoothingFramerate to 59 and 61 respectively plus changing the two MemoryPool settings from 512 to 1024 seems to have reduced the stuttering for me but the game stills stutters more than it should do. I'm pretty sure it has to with my VRAM usage though as the stuttering occurs when it exceed 1.9 GB. Short of lowering the settings, I'm not sure what I can do to get rid of it. Also, I'm puzzled as to why this game is even using 2 GB of VRAM in the first place as it is certainly not bad looking but there are lots of low-res textures and visually the game is not really astounding technically, it's more the superb art design that makes it look good. I've been playing for what seems like 3 hours and I still haven't met Elizabeth yet... :3eyes:
I was just scratching my head for ages trying to figure out why there was no crowds and floating trees etc. and realised it was the background streaming. As someone mentioned in a previous post though, you have to start a new game. But after I got to the same part and all was working ok, I decided to quit out and try at false again, as it was a complete stuttery mess. The scripted events were now taking place correctly but the stutter was improved. I wonder do you just have to start the game with background streaming enabled and then quit out and change to False? Or when I reach the next checkpoint with it on False will it update the save file and break scripted events again? It's a shame that it has issues with background streaming disabled as it's awfully stuttery with it on. Seems as it is a glitch in the Unreal engine though as I saw a few posts mentioning this in the past, regarding scripted events being broken if background streaming was disabled. Hope they fix the stuttering with this enabled.
