That's your experience bro. Not everyone go through the same.

I have had CFX/SLI with no major issues. Even when I had trifire I cant tell the difference in microstutter other people perceive.

Well, yes. I agree with you that its a matter of personal experience, perspective and perception.
But micro stutter is UNDENIABLE. It can be "scientifically" proven. You may percieve it, or you may not. But for the ones who do, it IS annoying.

(those were just as an example)

On the other hand, in respect to driver issues. Lucky you that had a nice, issue free, experience with all your multi-card setups. But if you check forums from all over the world, you will see that guys with CF and SLI setups tend to have more issues than guys with single-card setups. That's why I always recommend the single-card solution over the multiple-card one. Not that the latter is bad.

Yup, that's right, I hope so too as well! First time I go AMD and it's very interesting to see them improving fast and keeping up a great fight.

Think about it this way... if a driver doesn't contain fixes for specific games, then perhaps the driver and game are optimized as far as they can? I'm all for performance increases... but too much of them in one place obviously means that the driver before it was... crap. And seeing this happen over and over again... see what I'm getting at?

No argument here. I never said micro stutter doesnt exist. I agree with you with the recommendation of single gpu over multi gpu.

About crossfire setups, maybe later on I will add another 7970, but first I should get a 120hz monitor just to take advantage of the increase in fps. Problem is I can't find any decent monitor with 120hz in my country and I don't want to go the TV way :/

If what he's saying is true, then your statement about 7xxx cards should be instead "some 7xxx cards"

Hmmm, well yes. I never said ALL, anyway. But he has a 7970, and so do I, and I had issues with OGL apps only. So it remains to be seen if he actually tried to run an OGL app and see if it worked or not. Most apps run with DirectX, which on those drivers worked ok.

    I don't even... lol

Unless you have the same exact system and setup, you don't really know what happens on his computer. And seeing as you both even have different GPU's... :bang:

How did you install the drivers? Did you install the new beta drivers on-top of the old drivers? Uninstall the old drivers with CIM? Driver Sweeper? Manual uninstall?

LOL yeah I didn't bother biting on that one.

Same way as always, uninstall and install new drivers. I got Doom 3 working, Radeon Pro was causing that problem for some reason. Bioshock on the other hand still is not working. Having looked over the net apparently it's a common problem. (not driver related)

I suspect it is something to do with the way steam is changing the way the games are stored as it worked before worked before and I just happened to be on different drivers. Recently I had a lot of games downloading which I already had installed.
