Well GTX470 is really start to show its age now but yeah it will still run just fine. He can upgrade though, if he can

Yeah I can relate to the "need to upgrade" but I lasted this long and i think i'll pass this generation of GPUs and wait for the next one...btw i'm still struggling not to buy the TITAN
Don't want to be a downer but they weren't going to give it a bad review, it was an exclusive! Sure it will be good mind, 30GB is going to be a strain on my SSD but what the heck.
ShopTo.net have just charged my credit card so it looks like this is being sent out tomorrow for a Monday delivery. 30 GB must mean the game comes on at least three, possibly, four DVDs then depending on the level of compression. I'm amazed that it is that large as, to my knowledge, the game doesn't feature any FMV to tell the story so the textures and whatnot must really be noticeably superior to the console versions which I believe come on a single disc (Xbox 360 uses a DVD that holds around 7 GB of data).
Steam allows you to install to other drives so just install it to a non-SSD partition. I personally never install game on my SSD as I don't believe they benefit in any major way except for a few seconds quicker loading times, which you're not going to notice anyway.
I always put the game I'm currently playing on the SSD if I can. The benefits vary depending on the game, you're right in that it's usually a few seconds here or there but with games with many small files it does make quite a difference (Shogun 2 Total War for example).
I have it installed on my E: drive, a 7,200rpm hard drive, and I honestly cannot even say that I noticed any loading times while I was playing it. And if you save 5 seconds then what can you do with in those 5 seconds you've saved anyway?
I've been waiting for my code for this from AMD for over 3 weeks now - is anyone else still waiting for the code? (I got the Tomb Raider one instantly at the time) I'm about ready to try to contact support about it....
I have it installed on a 5900 rpm drive and it still loads fast. now dayz mod, that took forever to load on the 5900 rpm drive anyway I just use junction links to so steam thinks steamapps is still on main drive.
Is this no longer the Unreal 3 engine? The first two ran really well on maximum on my old GTX285. I hope the next Bioshock is in an underground city or on a moon base or something like that. Always guaranteed a great setting with Bioshock.
I don't think much of an IGN review, but having played and loved the first 2 Bioshock games chances that Infinte will be a failure are pretty low. Also, I preorderd a retail copy, since it's cheaper and it's steamworks title anyway. I'll have to patiently wait for it I guess.
