Ok another update. Seems a driver bug has cropped up in latest beta or maybe its always been like this... If you set fan speed > 67% you will get downclocking.. been running valley, power target max of 91%, temps are max 58c with 85% fan speed, boost clock goes up to 1114 ( no added voltage) and it goes all the way down to 1040ish, wont make up its mind.. sure enough set fan speed to 50% and it doesnt do it anymore. WTF is all i can say. quick google shows other people with same problem... https://forums.geforce.com/default/...0-cause-downclocking-with-314-09-and-314-14-/
Sorry I told a lie. I changed from a 2600k to a 3770k and hadnt notice my 680's were now running pci 3.0 x8. not 2.0 x8 So my titans will also run pci 3.0 x8 @ 5870x1080 you still think i'll have an issue?
Bought two Evga Overclocked Titans for SLI today They will be here Friday, so much for my vow to hold out for the 780 gtxs!! I am curious to see how much of a tiny bump two Overclocked cards provide from the stock Titans, I a hopeing for 9-10 frames overall.
9-10 frames in what game? You should be able to hit 1100mhz easily, from there it depends how much noise you can handle and how good your card is.
Strangely, it runs comparably to my GF's 7970 ghz when playing NS2. Heck, NS2 might even be a tad more 'consistent' on her machine than mine. But I guess that's actually a good thing, since my 680 was noticeably slower at NS2 than her 7970ghz. (NS2 seems to love ATI) Otherwise, it's a nice boost in most other things. A solid step up over the 680. I like it. (If anyone in the D.C. area wants a 680, PM me ) -scheherazade
I get mine tomorrow, and I hope this is an issue that can be fixed by nVidia. I live in a hot climate, so ambient temps can be high, and I'll probably need fans over 67%.
Same thing here, also noticed that if you have a low usage the Titan clocks back to default clocks to (as Nvidia calls it) conserve power. In a game like Planetside 2 as a result im getting 23 fps with 30% GPU usage... :3eyes: I know its a CPU game but how the hell im getting 23FPS with a i7 980X .... is beyond me.
Actually i run Planetside 2 maxed without AA @ 65fps solid, yup. sounds like Titan first adopter probs to me, maybe at end of month you'll have a nice driver.
i havent played since beta, which was what 3 months ago? that was with 580s, gpue usage < 50%, CPU usage maxed with **** fps
Ok so fan wasnt the problem.. Adding voltage past 11mv causes the card to boost higher and clocks are all over the place.. So plus 11mv and + 90 offset, i get a clean 1097 all the time, add +12 well then it starts boosting to 1124 and goes up and down.. + 37mv is even worse. anyways, i can get ram stable at 7200 with +37mv, but i dont like that boost going up and down.. so right now im at 1097/7122. staying a bit conservative on the core until i get my waterblock
Titan throttles even with watercooling .... uke2:. Not good guys. http://www.overclock.net/t/1363440/nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-owners-club/2580#post_19455772 MaunelG's response at the Nvidia Forums https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/533422/geforce-drivers/maunelg-why-does-manual-fan-70-cause-downclocking-with-314-09-and-314-14-/3/
With Maldo? Strange enough Crysis 2 with Maldo doesn't run allright here. I got no SLI scaling and IQ differences wehen switching on and off SLI. Maybe it's time to do some clean up.
