Thanks man. My CPU must not like me because no matter what I set, I cant get over 4.7ghz . I mean I'm not hurting for that 300MHz, I would just like to validate at 5GHz. :D

I am still using a stock heatsink on my 8350 4.0ghz. I have it running at 4.2 ghz with 1866mhz ddr3 when I stress test the temp of the cpu goes up to 67c but the temp of the cores itself stays around 55c. Should I consider that a safe zone?

when the PC idles tho the temp drops to 30c for cpu and 19c for the core

67c is your TJ Max. That is the temp you need to keep an eye on. AMD recommends not to exceed 62c. The 55c your're looking at is "core temp". AMD processors don't have temp sensors on the cores. So that reading is wrong.

14k physics score? thats very unlikely.. Pills at 5.2 was just short of 10k..
    probably cause youre running custom

I get ya. buying an aftermarket heatsink should lower the temperatures under stress?

Yes. What is your budget on a Heatsink and what case do you have?

Hydro Series it is, looks like a beast. I also just turned down my memory to 1600 and stress tested everything. This time cpu temp stayed around 44c MAX

Are you overclocking through the FSB or Multi?

Multiplier so technically it shouldn't matter because when I increase the multiplier, it doesnt increase the memory speed. although this stock heatsink gotta go. It just looks awful, stock heatsink on such a beast as 8350

OK. I was just wondering. Yeah, I've never been a big fan of stock anything.

Make sure your case has mounting ability for the rad or you'll just have to ghetto tape it.

Custom was because I ran the CPU test only.

This was a full run. Its probably a bug anyway.
