Ah mine isnt locked, just cant go above 30fps on all things maxxed out and 1080p. I guess I shouldnt expect much else on a 460 and an i5 but the run was 60fps solid after the patch. different engine I suppose. at least when i get a new card it will work well :)

Anyone found a mod for bumper can. Tried a camera mod but it felt wrong?

Yup, all maxed out and frame locked perfectly at 60fps :)

Hurrah! It's the best driving game in a very long time and for it to have been marred with so much lag was starting to look like a tragedy, especially after patches came out with made no difference, so for it to finally work is the best news I have had all week!

60fps and smooth with max settings (motion blur disabled). Still stuck with in-game FXAA but it's passable. The big downside -- now the game crashes :bang:

I haven't played this game in a while on the PC (although I did buy the game for my iPad 4 for 69p on New Year's Day!) but after reading about the new patch I thought I'd load it up. This game has always suffered from an extremely juddery framerate, especially when turning corners, but amazingly this is now completely gone and the game runs impressively smoothly. My question is why wasn't the game released like that in the first place? Is it really acceptable to have to wait well over a month for a game to finally be finished and run as intended? In this case, the poor performance actually put me off playing it so my answer to that question is no. I can only hope that the next-gen of consoles, due out this year, will bring about optimized 64-bit performance on the PC. Well, I can dream, can't I?

I'm glad they finally got around to fixing the performance issues but really, it's the first of multiple issues that need to be fixed

    -fps cap
    -steering wheel support
    -weird delay in controls
-graphic settings expanded (no i don't like the build in blur filter)

And i still believe this game suffers from a huge lack of content, would have been better if it was a F2P game imo.

edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oNOhWzx65jI 40:00 mark, question being asked about control input, them straight up lying and saying the game will control well with a steering wheel.

Best waiting at least 3 months before buying/playing a game so all the kinks can be ironed out. Just over a month ain't that bad really!

If it is an EA title, that is.

Tried the new patch and was much happier with performance. The game itself however is still zero fun to actually play.

It feels and plays much like Burnout Paradise, not surprising since it is by the same developer, but even though I found that game very disappointing and repetitive as a single player game, at least NFS: Most Wanted seemed more enjoyable initially. There was fun to be had trying the different cars and exploring the city.

Sadly though, as others have pointed out, it lacks content and becomes very samey after a while. There's no sense of progression in the single player mode since all the cars can be used from the start simply by finding them in the city and driving up to them. You can upgrade the cars but it feels so shallow as to be pointless. Also the difficulty ramps up and the game becomes a frustrating chore to play. It is clearly designed around online multiplayer and I'm afraid that is something I'm not interested in.

For me, the original 2005 Most Wanted is still the better game in terms of gameplay and felt more like a proper single player game with its career mode where you raced against progressively harder rivals and won their cars as a reward for beating them. It is quite depressing the way the single player game is being slowly replaced by shallower but more accessible online modes.

I'm glad you posted this. It still defaults to NFS: The Run for SLI.

Reinstalled the game now that i have a stronger GPU and the game has been patched.
Still can't max the game out which makes me kinda mad.

Are there any settings i can savely turn down a bit
without loosing a lot of visual quality, but gain some more FPS?

Also, what exactly does the VFX Quality setting do?
