Why do they keep developing these games this fast?

I bought BC2 pretty much when it came out and I still feel it hasn't lived its life yet.
Why don't they keep adding content, instead of developing the same game with a different engine but 100% same gameplay?

Maybe I'm just used to games like CS, SC and Diablo, but these games seem more normal to me considering the releases.

I haven't even bought BF3 yet and now they are already talking about BF4 haha?

    Yeah, I know.
Seems the whole world is running on profit and there's no ethics or morality involved in business these days.
Anything goes, if it's profitable, even child labor or scamming poor people.

I'd say this is more an EA standpoint, the corporate monster that it is will soon devour the world.

I would not mind if they released a new BF at the end of the year. I dont want them to use a brand new engine. More like Frostbite 2.5 or something like that and give it a massive performance increase and fix the more prominent underlining bugs and tweak it even more. I mean its pretty well optimized at the moment but there is always room for improvement. And if its to be believed that there will be three teams this time (USA,RUSSIA,CHINA) it would make sense to better optimize the games engine to cope with say, oh I dont know, bigger maps for 32vs32vs32 battles!!! THAT WOULD BE EPIC!

    EDIT:

AndreasGuido I hear you there my friend. I do like modern combat games, but still I loved WW2 games COD2, Brother In Arms, etc were simply awesome games. I would love to see a BF1940 or something like that. Or even better a game based on WW1 and with the detail we can now show in the engines it could really hit home of just how horrible the first world war really was if done tastefully and with a little bit of brains.

WW2 sucks even more, that would only improve the game for WW2 nerds, it would not make it a better game overall.

I would rather BFBC3 personally, the previous two BC games, especially the first were great while BF3 ended up like an even more boring COD, but with shinier graphics.

I hope the maps are more optimized this time around. There are always spots on many of the BF3 MP maps that kill frames. You move a few inches and the frame drop is gone, go back to that area and the frames drop.
