Anonymous threatens Justice Department over hacktivist death

I completely support them in this. While LulzSec is busy stealing our identities and selling them Anonymous is gathering information on those who are above authority to be used as leverage at the appropriate time. That is the only way to hurt somebody who cannot be prosecuted -- to give tyranny a face that can be known to all. I feel if they'd spend a little more time educating the populations about the people who think that they own the world that they'd be much more effective and gain a lot more support.

I just hope the information they obtained is devastating enough to discredit them to the point where no body believes them any more as these agencies are learning to keep sensitive information away from the internet, no matter how good the encryption or how secure the databases are. Once they take that information off the grid it's gone to all but a few.

I remember those dummies were threatening to attack FB in September. Nothing happened. Pretentious kiddies with a program named after a GDI super weapon from C&C ..

 

I remember when it was more about laughing at being taken seriously and not trying to be taken seriously and laughed at.

 

I'm interested in reading the digest of the sensitive documents. The 'man' is not going to back down because it would be an embarrassment and there's no way they can shut down all the sources of information without alerting Anon, so I'm awaiting the embarrassing truths with something of a gourmet's expectation of a feast. The problem is that all the abuse of power that's going to surface is going to be interesting for a day and then people are going to forget about it in favour of gossip about Snooki or some similar trash star. They're too well-fed for a revolution...

 

Didn't they also say they were going to take down the entire internet at one point? These guys are a joke

Can we please make a forum rule together as to never post or mention the bunch of idiots who like to congregate underneath the "Anonymous" banner. It just encourages these poor children as to think somebody, somewhere, actually gives a two sh!ts about them and their meaningless actions.

 

They aren't idiots and their actions are far from meaningless, unless of course you consider exposing child pornographers and rapists to be meaningless. And that's just a portion of the good that they've done. There are a few cases where they've done more harm than good but for the most part they're on our side.

The worst thing that can happen to this thread is for it to turn into an 8 page argument like a certain thread that just got closed. That seems far more meaningless in my opinion.

Hacking into computers regardless of your intent is illegal. Hacking into computers, stealing information and then making threats to release the info if their demands arent met is basically extortion. These guys are criminals.
