There is no doubt this CPU is fast enough for future games. Imo the expensive i5/i7's are waste of money. Sure they are faster, but i doubt i will notice difference in games. That's why i'm going with AMD for now and maybe in the future too. What, 7950 is comparable with GTX670 or 660 Ti? look at tho's price tags, way more expensive then the 7950. @Pill Monster This PSU is pretty old, and 500w. It's a german brand Amacrox, this is just my temporary PSU. There is noway i'm gonna overclock, my PSU can't handle it and will die at some point. And i really want to keep this PSU for backup. I wish i could bought a new PSU, i could barely buy these parts and had to pick a crappy PC case.
7950 compares to the 670. They dropped price because of kepler, as for the big gap, idk surely amd sint making much profit at those prices
Using 3d Mark 11 Pro On the Xtreme setting preset I get a result score of ~X2703 (No OC used. everything at stock performance).
Performance test: Xtreme Test: [img=http://s2.postimage.org/3nkt3rmf9/Xtreme.jpg] I haven't saved the first xtreme score so i had to rescan it but this time got a lesser score. I had some applications open and that might be the issue of the lesser score. I'm new at software benchmarking but I feel my performance score is low. I read that if I disable the internal GPU the score will be boosted for 1k-2k more but I will have some other problems and bugs if I do it so I will let it as it is. Pill, you seem to be a vet at bencharkning. What is your opinion ?
I don't know if disabling the onboard video will improve things but it won't cause any problems if you do. Those results could be a lot better...especially your physics score which is directly related to CPU performance and to a lesser extent memory. I would expect your scores to be at least equal to mine once you overclock the CPU/GPU.... This is what I get at 4.8/1185/1650:
tbh i saw a small bottleneck with my 580s at 1ghz(at 4.8) 670s were even worse. before i went water i was seeing 90% ~ish on those 670s in bf3(dont remember if it was 32 or 64) but going 5ghz got rid of it completely. youll probably see 5-10% bottleneck at your current 4.7 oc. but games like metro 2033 there wont be any
It's really weird seeing those low scores. I don't believe that I will see 3k boost in my gfx score with an OC. I read that some1 else with almost the same rig as me had the same problem untill he disabled the internal GPU. HIs score went from 6300 to 8k. Now, regarding the CPU I would expect to be somewhere close behind you. But 1.5k seems a little to far away considering... I will keep searching what might cause this thing and try with heaven benchmark to see if those 2 scores are close to identical. On the other hand, even a score of X2550-2600 (average of my 2 tests) seems to be very good compared to the performance test. Edit: After some search (been lucky finding info so fast), I saw that my Performance score is about right. I have seen better scores but they might be custom scores. I'll keep looking.
Take 3DMark (any version) results only as reference (what they really are). If you want to test your system and see how it preforms, only way to do it is by playing games and see how it goes, bunch of numbers don't tell anything about system (in most cases). And to the OP, did you solve USB problem? How it acts on USB 3.0? Same? If same, rest assured it is PSU.
^ Why did u get banned? Same happens on USB3.0 but not as much as 2.0. But my PSU broke down, just as i expected. But i'm not sure if it is the PSU and not the videocard. I have put out the videocard, and took the power out of the PSU for few seconds and put back in. The PC turns on now but without the videocard. I can't test it with a other videocard, i hope it's just the PSU not handling the videocard well and turns off.
Hmm... If this video/review is of any credibility(no reason otherwise) along with many other threads all over the net, then the 8320 is a obviously(as is already mentioned) a BEAST of a CPU. Get a nice Corsair HX650 or similarly good PSU and Enjoy it. Its a beast.
I already knew that from the start. My new PSU arrives today, Enermax 620w. I've heard they make the best reliable PSU's. edit: I'm also getting a new case, this one s*cks really bad. It feels mega cheap, i can break the sidepanels without breaking a sweat. I'm between these two cases: - Corsair 600T White - Cooler Master Storm Trooper
