Nvidia Inspector or MSI Afterburner which one is better? or are they the same?

  2. No they are not same...

nvidia's solution for my is more buggy... I've experienced long loading times in skyrim because of them once...

MSI solution worked always fine for me...

Not to mention the constant crashing.

    MSI Afterburner all the way.

MSI or Precision works much better for me over Nvidia Inspector. Inspector seems to introduce a judder/stutter when I use it.

From experience I'd use afterburner as it seems to work better than inspector which introduce issues. With Inspector I've seen crashing, freezing, and corruption when framerate limiter is forced.

Inspector uses the limiter that is within the nVidia drivers, where as Afterburner and Precision use their own method. the latter has always worked best for me.

I've always used nvidia inspector. For me it seems easier to actually get the profiles from inspector.

Maybe a dumb question, but how are you gentlemen getting specific game profiles from MSI or Precision. I just couldn't figure it out.

Also maybe a bit off topic but what do you guys think of Nvidia's new (in beta testing) GeForce Experience? Will this be the way to go in the future?

Enable Vsync and use 59fps frame limit on afterburner. No Tearing no input lag and better as adaptive vsynch which make still tearing.

NV inspector works great with 120hz/120fps. including skyrim

I don't know about EVGA Precision, but in MSI Afterburner you do it via RivaTurner's Server Statistics (RTSS.exe), meaning the on screen display panel you get when enabling OSD overall.

On GeForce Experience, IMO It's going to be good for the not so savvy PC gaming crowd out there, like for example my GF's little brother, dude goes straight to the game and doesn't even think of going over the options/settings.

For non V-Sync'ers: Not having your card running at its maximum performance all the time, keeps temperatures down, and can help reduce tearing just a tiny bit.

For V-Sync'ers: It set to 59Hz, or some other value below your refresh rate, it helps reduce the input lag that comes with using V-Sync. And in my case, if set to 60Hz, it furthers improves the smoothness of V-Sync, it worked unbelievable well in BF3.

It also helps in menus where VSync doesn't work.

    I love the BF3 engine.

Something that works even better than any third party limiter is if possible, always use the engine itself to limit fps

    for BF3 gametime.maxvariablefps 60

MSI limiter is excellent I have great success with it, however if the option is there, always choose the game engine itself

60Hz VSync + a limit of 59FPS somehow reduces input lag, no matter if forced externally or with the ingame command.
