Help with Project IGI (Nvidia problem)

Hello all :roll:

This is a pc game with a Nvidia problem because with ATI/AMD it works..

I cannot get this game properly started on windows7 64bit/32bit.
All old games on win7 work except this one (old favorite) :bang:

Direct X message: fatal error - couldn't flip :frown:

I have tried everything so what doesn't work:
Using older directx 9-8-7 files..
Compatibily modes..
Older drivers/newer geforce drivers (i have a GTX260m)

I know its almost impossible but i hope somebody knows a solution..

 

Project igi 2 works on win 7.

Try 'compatibility' mode in the executable's properties.

 

I think it's about damn time we had a Project IGI 3.

 

1+ I also miss project IGI. Last one has been released like ages ago.

I tried this one while we were beta testing win7, unfortunately it doesn't work.

 

The problem with this game is that it is booting, :thumbup:
it can load a level, starts the intro from a level with ingame graphics. :flip2:

But after that hangs if you want to go ingame and you get a fatal Direct X message which is stupid because it don't make sense uke2: :kermit:

 

If i recall correctly... this game was broken a few years ago back when the..? was
it GF2 or GF3's were around.
An nVidia driver reached a certain number & broke this game.
At the time it would run but you'd get no menus or HUD overlay.. waited for a
patch or driver to fix the issue but they never bothered.

 

It worked until the famous GeForce 8's unified shader architecture came out.. :micro:

In the beginning it had much artefacts and the direct x error..
Now everything looks nice but until it crashes with the same directx message..

Geforce 7 with the same new drivers (26x.xx) then it works.. :3eyes:

well it is fix for IGI with graphic with newest GF cards

 

Hello, I need the fix too. Megaupload is down forever and the nvidia forums are down as well. Can someone share this fix with me please?

Never thought all problems would be fixed.
With the latest Nvidia drivers on a fully updated Win7 64bit and DirectX and a "fix" it is all GREAT. XD

Someone uploaded the "fix" (love that word) on Nvidia forums.

Just copy past it in the main folder and open the .exe file that came with it..

On my GTX260M i dont need this "fix" with latest Nvidia drivers.
With a GTX570 this "fix" (really.. love it) is needed for a normal (not glitching) main menu. (settings etc..)

Im so happy now playing this full HD.. :3

Project IGI e IGI 2 worked for years on all my pcs including W7 x64 without any fix.

only issue i ever had was widescreen resolutions and that was easy.

glad you fixed your problem, even after all this time.
