Agent, out of curiosity. Did you mean the switchable bios on the 680? Or actually flashing the card? I don't think my version of the card has a switchable bios :(

Just a heads-up: Arctic Cooling Hybrid coolers are currently on sale for $99.99 at Newegg. I ordered two. :nerd:

Perhaps time to invest in one or two of those anti-static wrist straps?

seems pointless on voltage locked cards.

    Perhaps throttling is happening.

You might be right if you're going for maximum overclocks, but my goal is quiet operation. Since going SLI, I have to use an aggressive fan profile to keep temps down on the top card. It's gotten too loud for my taste, especially since my pc is nearly silent at idle. This setup will also keep my cards well below 70C, and thus at maximum clocks without throttling. I'm looking forward to a gaming experience as quiet as my old 580 with the Accellero Xtreme cooler, with no "ramping up" at all under load.

My only concern is that there's enough space between the cards for the fan shroud. Judging by the pics I've seen, it'll be very tight. I was actually looking at the Twin Turbo II but saw the sale price on the Hybrid and figured I'd give it a shot.

New coolers wouldn't hurt but my case has no room. I'd have to change it first. Also the space between two cards can be issue.

Ha - thanks, man. I'm definitely going deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. I'm sure my next full build will be a balls-out custom water loop affair. Woe is me.

I get god-awful terrible performance with Hitman: Absolution, and I have 2 680s. :bang:

Far Cry 3 runs great for me, actually.

FC3 runs well for me now too, perhaps try setting a frame rate limit with hitman would help.

Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but how will a framerate limit help?

I can't break 45 fps in the Benchmark Tool no matter what I try, even lowering settings.

So in some sense there is already a limit? :3eyes: :wanker:

Are you sure SLI is active? Are you using monitoring software to verify your gpus are both working, and fully utilized?

I benched that game after it was recently patched and the minimum fps was over 60 at max settings, 4XMSAA @ 1080p

I know that I have SLI set in nVidia Control Panel and that it's working in other games.

Will try monitoring software when I get home tonight.

    Thanks.

    @TwoPlusTwo

I just re-ran the bench with the settings I described. Your results should be similar:

    @ Uncle Dude:

Mine are not even remotely close to that; I am gonna have to take a look at it when I get home tonight...

    @ Uncle Dude

Here are my results with lower settings than you:

MSI Afterburner shows both GPUs running:

Both GPUs peak at ~40% usage, which seems quite low.

This issue is driving me nuts! :bang:

Could I possibly sneak a peek at your nVidia Inspector settings?

TwoPlusTwo, with all respect how long have you been into enthusiast gaming rigs?
