Jonas, where do I go in my FarCry 3 directory to find those xml tweaks....I would love to try yours...but have no idea how to get there.

Is anyone else seeing terrible flickering of the lettering on the side of the Medusa ship wreckage that only stops when you get a certain distance away? I'm not sure whether it is an engine issue - the game certainly had its fair share of flickering shadows, especially during cutscenes - or whether it is a driver issue.

Z-fighting due to the nature of floating point numbers. Precision of the depth map, which determines what objects are visible, isn't infinite.
But the cut scene flickering is odd, probably a bug, I get it too.

Even with the new beta drivers and CAPs, I get noticeable microstutter below 60fps with my 6950s. Same happened with BF3 but doesn't happen with plenty of other games like Skyrim or Planetside 2.

Someone please correct me if I am missing something but DX11 adds the following over DX9:

    motion blur
    FXAA
    depth of field
    additional forms of SSAO
    and ....?

I don't like DoF and motion blur and the optional SSAO versions don't look too good to me. I suppose I may as well just play in DX9 and get the benefit of better performance and the ability to use SweetFX.

I agree. DX9 is more worthwhile for me at the moment.

But I've heard that FXAA still works in DX9? I haven't noticed it working myself but I may have screwed something up.

Anyone got a proper fix for the pop in issue, love the game but the fading in and out pisses me off so much.

This has to be the most annoying thing about the graphics imo. Even with geometry at ultra, the lod/texture "materializing" is awful. Try walking up to a car from a distance and see how many times it "rematerializes." Standard lod popping is bad enough without this ugly pixelized effect.

anyone know where the games soundtrack files are in the folders?

The soundtrack that is included in the Deluxe edition is missing some epic parts of the ingame score.... so im trying to find the score that the game is pulling from some file or folder. can't seem to find where those files are, or if their stuffed inside of some file?

I also tried with a lot of things, the only thing left to try is D3DOverrider to force vsync and triple buffering...

    Weird thing.

I've read that Far Cry 3 will not play in DX11 unless you run it via the farcry3_d3d11.exe, even if you have it set to DX11 with the regular FarCry3.exe

This seems to be true for me, as I have DX11 turned on but when I run it via the farcry3_d3d11.exe there is a noticeable graphics difference (as well as about a 50% drop in FPS). I'm able to run on High settings in DX9 and Medium in DX11...

but for some reason when I run via farcry3_d3d11.exe it does not find any of my save games from when I played via FarCry3.exe, anyone know why or how to fix that?

    thanks

I actually get smoother performance in DX11, and I can select it from the menu without any issue.

Anyone getting weird reflection shaders inside caverns? It looks butt ugly.

Jonas... if you see this... I'm having trouble COMPLETELY disabling SSAO in DX9. Not sure what the issue is. I have my <POST> section set so that on ultrahigh, ssao is 0 and fxaalevel is 2. But SSAO still turns on....

I wonder if I broke my settings...

Also, have you explained anywhere what PostFXLevel does?

And can you make multiple <POST> sections with custom settings for each quality (ID)? Or would the game ignore those....
