Crysis 3?

Game looks amazing

 

I'm running the alpha on my card at almost maxed settings and getting really good performance.
And, with past experience with Crytek's MP tests (was in the Crysis and Crysis 2 betas) the performance increase between the early MP tests and final releases are pretty good.

And, single player almost always runs much smoother then MP.

 

This looks like it will be amazingly immersive. And tbh, that is what I am looking forward to the most. Finally a Developer steps up to the plate and is actually delivering a real Next Gen visuals experience. THIS is why I upgraded to a GTX 680 SC.

 

Stunning looking, though the gameplay is to be expected, scripted as hell. Oh wells.

 

Am I the only one who didn't like the look of the tall green grass? To me it just looked like a modded map and someone with little editor experience had just gone crazy with grass that's too long and plastered it everywhere thinking it looked good.

Everything else looks great though.

 

The tall grass made the clip for me, most impressive part of trailer imo.

 

Yeah the grass looked great to me, not sure it was my favourite part as I personally thought the cloth looked very good, as did nearly all of the game physics.

CryEngine3 is clearly the best engine around at the moment, and even better is that this time it’s being used by more than just Crysis games.

I agree the gameplay doesn’t look like anything special though, but hard to tell if the game is entirely linear or it’s just the trailer.

DX11 hw was needed during the Alpha as well, so it's not surprising...Still, pretty daring to require actual DX11 hw.

I expected the minimum requirements to be similar to Crysis 2

 

Good news then, they must have dx11 nailed down tight with their cryengine if it's the only way to go.
though x1 680 seems rather optimistic especially for all you post process blur fans with heaps of AA glazing.

Look at Crysis and Warhead and their min/recommended specs, we all know fine well you want will need 2x680/7970 to even get 30fps.

Will be interesting to see new hardware though, especially from Nvidia as comparrd to AMD's 7k cards all of the 6xx cards seem to struggle with Cryengine games.

 

Well, that sucks (for me, lol).
You'd think they could at least still support the DX10 path.

The specs in general look a bit odd. I mean going from a Dual Core and 2 GB (how is 2 GB even possible?) to a quad core and 4 GB. Supporting a CPU from 2006 but not a GPU from 2009?

My guess is Crytek wants a certain fidelity standard for their game and therefore uses DX11 exclusively even if DX10 would still be possible.

 

A single gtx680 for Ultra settings? 30fps maybe?

 

You underestimate the power of GTX and good optimization!
