well 0.5 is greater than 0.20. as 0.5 would equal 0.50 or 0.20 equals 0.2.

I believe he meant to ask if "0.05" gives better AA than "0.2" and... the answer to that is yes, but setting it to "0.05" might cause you to have a blurrier image. I think CeeJay was trying to say that the threshold you want to set there depends on the game. So tweaking and testing changes would be required.

I generally start at "0.10" and go down from there until I find something I like.... though it usually doesn't make a big difference in the games I play.

What's the word on using SweetFX with 'Games for Windows Live' titles or games that require the Origin Overlay? Any techincal issues or anti-cheat concerns?

    Hi all,

Seeing this in the log.log. Does it matter or is there a way to correct it?

    full path: E:\Flight Simulator X\
    redirecting CreateDevice
    initiredirecting CreateDXGIFactordevice->GetBackBuffer failed
    redirecting Crearedirecting CreateDXGIFactory1
    redirecting CreateDXGIFactory

Also for the life of me I can't get this to work, or open Rivatuner.
    2) Start MSI Afterburner.
    3) Switch to the "MSI On-Screen Display Server" window.

    2x Sapphire Radeon HD 6950 2mb, W7 64, ENB, if that helps.

    Thanks!

Oh and sometimes I get a device driver failed warning and that it has restarted. That's never happened before until I started using SweetFx. This tool sure does make an improvement though.

Yeah, in a game like AC3 which has always-on FXAA, the addition of SMAA is barely perceptible. It makes a more noticeable difference in something like Borderlands 2 or Dead Space 2.

  9. Wow. That looks astonishing. Though without OFF shots it's hard to say is it more games' merit or indeed SweetFX'.

Anyone know why Planetside 2 wont launch when using sweetfx? It loaded the first time I tried and looked pretty good. Just had a game of ARMA II, went back to Planetside and now it refuses to load when I hit "Play".

The splash screen comes up then it just hangs?!

Took all the sweetfx files out and it loads fine.

I don't take off shots :p They'd clutter my flickr and I prefer to keep everything in 1 place.

It's partly SweetFX and partly framing\composition. I like to think I generally take decent screenshots. It's a talent not unlike photography.

SweetFX seems to help though. Other than Dishonored, I haven't had so many requests for my settings before :p Boggles my mind, because SweetFX isn't hard to tweak and accomplish what you want in a game. The only setting I don't have a complete handle on is DPX.

But if you play the game, you'll know it has a slightly washed-out look kinda like Dishonored. So increasing contrast is the first thing I did (with liftgammagain). I increase shadows more than highlights... and I reduce blue in shadows so night isn't ALL BLUUUUE. Also using HDR. Sharpening goes a long way as well.

Settings are one thing but you seem to have a very good resizing... I personally still like Paint's resizing (YES paint) because others would just look more blurry :/ I can't be satisfied enough with other softwares...

So I was messing around with my config, I hadn't touched bloom at all, increased threshold and applied.

This is my normal config without bloom:

    This is with added bloom:
