With affinity set to 4 cores I have 40fps and in those spikes what a surprise, 15-17fps. Hope the game gets fixed. Definitely not an overheating issue that's causing this.

I was playing around with the Assassin3.ini in under My Documents/Assassin's Creed 3 and found that switching vsync=1 to 0 (forcing it off) greatly increased my performance. You can also force V-sync on through the control panel with Triple buffering instead, after you have disabled vsync through the .ini. Control panel vsync can still cause some minor performance problems here and there, but it runs much better than the default vsync.

I have only tested it through the first few Boston missions as it only unlocked here in the US a little over an hour ago. So far pretty good and visually looks miles better than the previous games.

In Vista, 7 and 8 driver can't force triple buffering in D3D titles. If it appears to have triple buffering, then the application already has triple buffering enabled. Though forcing v-sync by other means can make difference, apparently.

Hmm... I did not know that. Though Nvidia forced v-sync seems to run slightly better than d3dOverider in Assassin's Creed 3 for me.

Not really a good performance benchmark..

    1100T is slow, even as a 6core. And why no 580gtx? >_<

-Tj-: Why are you always upgrade PC due to only less than half-year or than 1 year????? But 2 or 3 or more years minimum!! Because I remember that you have bought Core i7-3770K in +/-Q2 of this year and this your CPU is very good!!

Lol I started playing AC2 because I wanted to get into the series a bit more but I just can't get into it because the graphics are just too bad. It kills my immersion.

Are the graphics any better in this one?

man you are a graphics whore! i always thought ass creed were pretty good on that score..

tbh i am hoping for more of the same with maybe more +plot +action.

the new world is fairly big for me and the breakaway of the settlers from the crown. massive historically so to play it is a real pleasure (i hope).

This game is very impressive...story, graphic, gameplay, longevity. It has one of the most stunning visual ever. Trust me :D

Hey I didn't even care if they used the same engine from ACII or Brotherhood. I'm all for the fighting scenes/gameplay and story baby.

It's sad that Ezio is no more though. He really grew on me, but Connor looks awesome though. just not that handsome compared to Ezio :D

And I've also noticed that Desmond's face has changed. He looks like Connor lol. He even looked different in Revelations :/
