5-6 hours after installing beta6, I got my first 'driver has stopped.. but recovered', error with this card. This was probably caused by the heavy multitasking I was doing at the time. We'll see...:3eyes:

HD 6 users and below are best off using cat 12.10 WHQL or lower.

These are GCN drivers for HD 7 series. That pretty much means you won't benefit from any 12.11 driver as of now.

My 5850 never had problems on desktop use with normal idle clocks.

However 12.11 causes flickering on my secondary monitor even on empty desktop while doing absolutely nothing. And it happens even with with full clocks. Whatever they tried to "fix" made more things broken :bang:
EDIT: Primary monitor works fine tho even while secondary monitor flickers.

MPC-HC works fine for me. You using some antique version who are having problems with it?

I also noticed Trackmania 2 crashes on multiplayer after track change. Can workaround the crash by alt tabbing to desktop before next track starts loading. Earlier drivers didn't have issue.

Use temporary EVR or Renderless video renderer. Only EVR custom is affected by this bug.

Like I've said evr-cp is affected only if you have full or half "Floating point processing" enabled

BUT the real problem is they will ignore this bug unless more people will report it so please people put some pressure on them to NOT introduce yet another "video" :) bug cause as the past tells us they only "care" for games related bugs

BETA6 works OK via twin 6870's in crossfire
    BF3 smooth - Skyrim fine..

..still down at 59.7 fps, via Heaven Benchmark..

6990 users these are working really bloody well with current caps and i'm seeing no issues with the games i've tested thus far and no fracking flickering in any battlefield games! BF3, BC2, war of the roses, natural selection 2, hawken.

No more random dropped frames under 60fps in BF3, these are the new top drivers for me and my setup.

No more old 8.96 14th feb drivers lol.

Just remove any older drivers you have from Control Panel, reboot, install the new ones, reboot and your all done. All I have ever done and had no issues at all.

Not sure if this is relevant to the majority of this forum's users flickering problems, or if this is even the right place to post this info.

    Butt...

I HAVE TESTED THIS FOR DESKTOP FLICKERING ONLY
I've found that, In my case, I can be rid of the desktop flickering, when PowerPlay is enabled, which has plagued my setup since 12.10 (or was it earlier?? been so long) by fine-tuning the desktop refresh rate with EnTech's PowerStrip utility. I'm not sure how far it supports ATI cards past my own, a measly Rad HD 5650 Mobil; Powerplay has it idle at 100/150. Anyhow, give this a go if suits your fancy, just be sure to set a PStrip hotkey to reset to adapter defaults in case your displays goes flicker crazy from overzealous tuning, that will help avoid an awkward GUI reset or a far worse dreaded hard-shutdown, and remember that Ctrl will prevent PStrip from initializing custom settings on startup if they cause issue.
