Yea. I might stop looking for a solution because it's a pretty old game and I'm probably the only one playing it on Windows 8 right now but it sucks that I have absolutely no options to capture correct screenshots of it...

edit: Okay the problem is pretty isolated on Dead Space 1 so I'll just give up.

@ Wanny - I took a screenshot from Dead Space using Afterburner and it looked exactly like it did in the game.

Can someone do me a favour please and upload their "C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\IECompatData\iecompatdata.xml” please as mine has been overwritten by the IE9 one imported from Windows 7. As such it means that the compatibility list for Flash sites are not there and they are needed in order to run Flash in the Start screen apps, e.g. YouTube and so on.

    Thanks.

Yeah. And with many more games as well. I'm quite happy with the smooth transition from 7 to 8. I really don't want to go back to 7 anymore. :) And with 8, the bloody Winkey is useful for once.

Go to change PC settings - General. There you can repair (refresh), reinstall (remove) or check advanced start-up.

Thanks for the uploads, F1refly and -Tj-.

I believe I do have the correct one even though it mentions 'ie9' in the file as I found that if I deleted that then checked the 'Download compatibility list' in IE10 that it downloads the exact same file.

Do YouTube videos play for you in the Modern UI IE10 because they're just blank black screens for me. They play fine in the desktop IE10 though.

    *EDIT*
Seems F1refly's iecompdata.xml is much larger than the one I have: 329 KB vs. 49 KB. I've renamed mine and copied his to the same folder but YouTube still doesn't play videos in the Modern UI IE10. :(

    *EDIT 2*
This website explains how to add Flash support for websites in Modern UI IE10: http://www.howtogeek.com/127787/how-to-use-flash-on-any-website-in-modern-internet-explorer-10/

    *EDIT 3*
OK, Flash is working in Modern UI IE10 now, once I signed into my YouTube account. Thanks again for the iecompatdata.xml file. :D

Add Win+X: Opens Power User Menu (I find very useful).

@ dabrooks - You don't need to press Windows + X to get that menu, just right-click in the bottom right corner. With this and Windows + Q, it pretty much feels like I have the old Start menu back. :)

I have few questions concerning Win 8.

Can you get quick access to network monitoring, if you remember XP, latter in VIsta nd Windows 7, they did removed that option, I'm not sure if there is a workaround, i think there is none, but in XP, you could monitor your network activity simply by watching in right lower corner, in Vista/7 that was removed, but i can assume you can do it with Gadgets (i don't use them, and will not even if you can) ? Sure, you cna always do that by 3rd party program, or task manager for that matter, but MS never counted on that average user will use that, or go trough hustle of keeping task manager open etc.

Now in Win 8, when you use "Metro" (or whatever is called), can you see network activity without going to desktop, or adding 3rd party applications, or getting extra clicks.

Also, can someone explain a bit, how, and why, Win 8 is "cloud" oriented OS ? TBH, i don't even know for sure what cloud means, and what are benefits of it. All i know, is that "cloud" allows some sort of computing and storage trough internet, and clouds can be dark sometimes...

I'm really concerned about privacy in new Windows, and the way all things are going, that is basically why i ask.

@tweakpower : In the Task Manager you can view sent and received in real time on whatever network device you are using.

About the cloud storage, I'm not really sure myself, you can sign into Windows 8 using a hotmail / windows live / outlook account.. and somehow it saves your settings for something? I'm not sure. I chose to use a local account that is not tied to my e-mail.

    Maybe someone else can explain.
