I,m experiencing electricity stuttering right now. Light would go off and back on repeatedly. Is this normal during hurricane?
In Toledo we've been getting high winds all day, but no bad occurrences yet. Power system has held fine for now.
Its not bad here in NYC. High wind and some rain. Small disruptions in electricity from time to time and thats about it.
huh? from what i here there are over a million without power and a lot of flooding in nyc? im in new hampshire and 200k without power here. i am luck as of now i still have power. right across the street from me a tree is on someones house... just because its not bad right where you are doesnt mean the city isnt bad.
It's storms like this that should really get the power companies to start laying new power lines in the ground instead of using the same old tired pole method that sucks balls. Also, apparently Cleveland and other areas close to the lake are seeing massive waves coming in from the lake. Pretty ridiculous.
The worst has passed here with no disruptions. I think the Adirondacks kicked the stuffing out of it before it hit us. Highest winds here were about 50kmh.

To my fellow New Yorkers, and all that was hit by this storm best wishes. I was lucky enough up here in Albany, NY (about 160 miles north of NYC, and 225 miles west of Boston)that all we got was a little rain. I'm sitting right in the center of the Catskills and Adirondacks mountains, and we miss a lot of storms, lucky us.
