We already have rain & 40 mph + winds here on the Virginia coast and the storm is still hundreds of miles away.

So far, this "Hurricane" has been a disappointment for me.... Moved in on us about 6pm lastnight (at least according to radar shots) and it's been calm and drizzly.... same thing we get every time it rains.... So glad we blew money on "storm preparations" again...

Oh yeah.....real lucky... The radio made it sound like the world was going to end....so, wife went out and spent a ton of money on batteries, flashlights, drinks, etc....then I went and filled up the car, a gas can for the generator, my scooter (her's was relocated for the weekend), stocked up on food and **** for the guinea pigs. Just to sit here wondering why they made such a big deal about it.... We have summer storms that are worse than this...

Problem with MY opinion? The radio claimed wind gusts up to 80mph, heavy rain, inland flooding, etc, etc. So yes, I find it disappointing that they've intentionally scared people when the "storm" is no worse than our typical showers and quite tame compared to our typical summer storms that they downplay...

"Hurricane" Isabel was only a tropical storm when it hit, yet it took down half the trees in my neighborhood. This storm, which they touted as being "more powerful"....isn't even moving the branches on my 100ft tall trees..... So yes, I'm disappointed by this "hurricane"....

So far so good in central NJ. It's getting breezy here though. I'm gonna drive to NYC in some time. Hope Sandy subsides like last October's storm. Stay safe people.
