Thanks very much for the info, I was waiting to see what monitor could get to 4k @ 60hz for some time now. So it seems that a 1080p 120hz monitor is what it takes...

Just tested 3840x2160 and it does work. Results are really nice when combined with SMAA.

Please precise what is your monitor if it works :)

So I just did this, and was able to test with total horizontal pixels at 2282 and vertical at 1205. But if I enter even one more pixel over native into the horizontal and vertical pixels at the top of the page, and hit test, I get the error: Test failed. Custom resolution ___x___ at 60hz (32bit) is not supported by your display. The monitor doesn't flicker or test at all. The driver isn't letting me test that. Any ideas?
Edit: I played around a bit more, and I get have 2282 in the total horizontal, and 1205 in the vertical, and then in the display mode as reported by windows, I can get 1650 in the horizontal (I haven't tried to go higher) but as soon as I put the vertical lines setting above 1200 it errors out.

Thank you Anarion, I tried your settings and I my refresh rate is 72.78Khz, the Pixel clock is 145.85Mhz (my monitor is a 1920x1200 60Hz Asus VW266H) so this is why I think it does not work, it seems that these settings are too high to handle for the monitor. The max I managed was 3840x2400@48Hz... Maybe the gpu is a factor too.

If i go higher than 60Hz at 3840x2160, I get red screen.

it appears to me that at 3840x2160 the pixel clock is limited to around 133mhz (instead of 165mhz).
this leaves me enough room for 60hz but not a single hertz higher, let alone 120hz.
you'll find it difficult passing 75hz refresh rate under 165mhz pixel clock limit for any DS resolution.

So the red screen driver problem is fixed above 1620p up to 2160p????

The only Problem is that the Mouse-Cursor not to be scaled, but otherwise I have noticed no Problems. :)

Can someone help me I am confused.

If my monitor native resolution is 1920x1080 what setting should I be using for my custom resolution?

I'm getting no audio when down-sampling. Anyone else run into the same issue?

Can someone recommend a good monitor that can support 2160p?

I can create a resolution up to 2880x1620 using the nvidia control panel.

If I try to create a 3840x1920 resolution, I get an error that says:
"test failed. Custom resolution 3840 x 2160 (32-bit) is not supported by your display."

All seems to indicate that Kepler offers higher downsampling capability than Fermi (I couldn't go higher than 3840x2400@48hz) but it's still to be proven.
