I'm truly asking myself when i'm gonna be able to play Darksiders 2 smoothly without relying on third party tool like Msi afterburner.....

Hope the next drivers fix this mess... not to mention the unfixed vsync problem on windows 8....

Maybe never? I still have to use afterburner for Darksiders 1. Might just be the game as I had the same issues with Darksiders 1 and 2 when I was with AMD.

****ed up drivers in BF3, pressing any where in BF3 menu will minimize the game.

How does afterburner make the game run smoother? Just curious.

Comes with a program called MSI on screen display, I use it to cap the frame rate for a few games I get stuttering in such as Skyrim,Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders etc.

Make a profile for Darksiders II and force Threaded Optimization to Off. That got rid of the stuttering for me

Tried that before, no joy for me.

Just tested with GW2, FPS sometimes seem to be a bit lower but it reduces the stuttering I experienced before, so the overall experience is much better.

Seems to be a Kepler and/or game specific problem (I have a GTX 670). It's more like microstuttering, with otherwise stable FPS. Getting it primarily with VSync below 60FPS (no adaptive VSync of course). GW2 is an extreme example.

It seem darksiders 2 think it must frameskip for some odd reason even tho it has 60fps or more.

The weird thing is its not happening with vsync-off.

I wonder if something is not overflowing in with the nVidia driver when vsync is set to ON and that MSI afterburner is able to workaround that problem when limiting the fps at 60...

Also ill be quite interested to know why the fps cap from nvinspector is not producing the same result as afterburner...

From what I saw Afterburner or Dxtory have better frame limiter technique. Especially Dxtory, nvidia's build in is a bit so so, not so smooth.

Last time i tested it, i think with 301.xx, it got better but still not it, Imo Dxtory is still no1 limiter.

The integrated limiter sometimes causes a bluescreen(!), I'd also stick with AB or Dxtory, these work fine for me and others.

Happens sometimes when there's low RAM or something, windows will swap the low-intensity display mode. Also, it seems to do this in certain fullscreen games, so when you tab out you can for a brief moment see the un-aero interface.

Has the V-Sync issue been fixed?

No matter what limit I set my FPS to it drops a couple below it resulting in stutter (when just roaming around).

Without V-Sync there's still stutter as a result of the FPS fluctuating too much.

    Disabling SLi doesn't help.

    PS: I'm using 301.42 WHQL.

    Definitely, at least for me.

    Even on Windows 8.

306.23 was a ****ing disgrace for me for whatever reason, BF3 was unplayable with that set, I even downgraded to Windows 7 thinking it was Windows 8 causing the stutter, but after updating to 306.63, everything has been nice and smooth, even on Windows 8!.

Odd though, unless it's the video memory that's affected, seeing as I have 16Gb of RAM and 2Gb swapfile (initial and max size = 2048Mb).
I also play merely in 1680x1050 resolution, so I would figure 2Gb of video memory would be sufficient?

Thanks though, I guess I shouldn't be worried then.
