Strange, I no longer have that pre-render 1 slowdown issue after I installed this directly over 306.02. Fixed or coincidence? No mention of it in release notes..

So the issue seems to be non-existent in Windows 7. I already filed a bug report over at NVIDIA.

That's a shame since performance was up in Windows 8 vs 7, oh well.

All the talk about DPC latency has me wondering, what kind of DPC latency is normal? What's the highest it should go before problems occur?

Using this tool I seem to get a steady 1,000us on my laptop. I didn't read too much into LatencyMon but it said my system appears suitable for real time audio without dropouts. Will try with desktop later on.

OUCH 1000???? My absolute maximum on my PC is 97 idle!!!!

With TS open, MSI Afterburner and streaming 1080p on youtube, I haven't seen over 137.

playing Diablo 3 and noticing lots of lag spikes since installing these drivers. Was on 295.73 before and beginnging to wish I hadn't bothered upgrading as i've tried about 4 sets of drivers since 295.73 and all have been crap.

Yeah that set was darn fine with my 8800 GT. I only moved on due to my new card.

Both my Win8 machines seem to get ~1,000 consistent, barely moving more than 10 points either way. Both programs say that everything seems normal, and everything seems fine to me. Do you get 100 with the program I posted a link to?

    Hi guys
    just a little question about 306.23 :
I saw this driver contains a SLI profile for torchlight 2 , but it seems just one card works on this game.
Indeed , I open the profile with nvidia inspector and I see :
numbers of gpu to use on sli rendering mode : SLI_GPU_COUNT_ONE
    sli rendering mode : SLI_RENDERING_MODE_FORCE_SINGLE

    is it normal ?

I really don't know what's going on with BF3 and 306.23, gameplay is not smooth, I'm getting good FPS and everything, but it is not a COMPLETELY smooth ride.

I get this tiny skips every now and then, very tiny, but very annoying when you're cruising at 60 FPS Vsync'ed, I've tried with Vsync off as well, and is even worse sometimes.

I really don't know what's causing all this, I even downgraded from Windows 8. Maybe 306.23 doesn't have the whole Vsync issue completely fixed?

AndyB or ManuelG I really need your input on this issue.

Been playing Borderlands 1 (1.4.1) these days on a brand new windows 8 enterprise trial. Game worked perfect perfect for a few days (nothing installed after, the OS is almost virgin), but then, after a couple of hours play it will BSOD aprox 5 secons after I alt-tab out of the game, happened several times already. I do alt-tab a lot, have to answer messages. I think it started since I forced FXAA on borderlands.
ps: card usage does not go above 70, temps shoot for 85 but not higher, card is not clocked.

It says on the page you linked to that the program doesn't work correctly :) It's probably fine.

I got a similar problem with borderlands 2.

Only the game is freezing on me without alt-tabbing its the only game btw other games like darksouls metro 2033 or any other games dont have freeze problems really strange.

dpc checker says I have 130 ish latency but Latecymon says I have 11 lantency one of them is incorrect I not particaly sure which though.

I seen 306.23 have as high as 1.2k latency normal around 100-500 though according to latencymon

    @ inplayruns

have u tried triplebuffering ON , people in this forum have commented, enabling the feature makes bf3 run smoother ... try it ! b(try both vsync on or off)

I noticed that with all settings maxed out in Guild Wars 2, including Supersampling, the only one that drastically increases FPS is setting Shaders from High to Medium. Maybe there's room for driver optmizations, maybe ArenaNet has to do it. Anyway I'm not dropping below 50FPS with these settings + SMAA injector instead of ingame FXAA, lucky me.
BF3 also runs perfect for me, so does D3 (aside from their well known issues, e.g. jerky streaming).

Use LatencyMon instead. It's compatible with W8

It's better, but not perfect. Best fix would be better programming.

Triple buffering is enabled by default in BF3.

But thanks for the help anyway mate! :)
