It's a plate from 1971 that my Grandfather had on his tow truck back then. Was buried in a leaky garage for 30+ years until I found it a couple years ago.

So you didn't have aluminium in the 70's?

I'm sorry, I'll send the plate into a laboratory ASAP so we can figure out exactly what it contains and why it rusted. :D.

EDIT: I think IcE below me is right with it being stamped steel, it's a good bit heavier than my current plate on the rear.

Plates were stamped steel back then. It's just how they did it. Back in that day, your number plate rusting was the least of your concern. Cars didn't have any form of rust protection whatsoever.

Haha, yeah I'm sure. I was just interested as I've never seen a rusted numberplate. These days that's about the only thing that doesn't rust here with the ridiculous amounts of road salt they use in the winter

i had a plate from 1964 that came on my 64 chevelle when i had it 15 years ago, nice thick steel, back when steel was real and not this integrated tin can stuff they make frames out of on some vehicles.
The plate had some rust on the bottom, but really looked pretty decent for how old it was

Actually it does have "backbone" unlike alot of "flat floored" types like a Vespa for example. I am actually "straddling" it.

Just picked up my new ride, 2013 Fit Sport
Handling is really good, see no use for the paddle shifters as it feels like a gimmick serving no real use. The space configurations is amazing and is top reason i wanted it.

The point is to keep road debris and random **** from kicking up and destroying the paint over time.

So then the rest of the car will have it's paint destroyed over time and the nose of the car will be pristine? ;)

Could look worse, i could have gotten the Nissan Juke, lol or perhaps an oversized park bench of a spoiler on the back ;)

Well normally one would actually take care of their car or never take off the bra although bug guts..etc will nick and scratch up a front end far sooner than it would any place else, I know i've owned several new cars before, though i got it more because i liked the black on red look, if you don't that's cool, its not your car to like. I was just showing off the new car, not selling a bra. :nerd:

So no one noticed the window visors?....now those are useful. Always wanted to get some on my previous cars but never did.

Actually there's a a guy in my neighbourhood that has a Juke. It's matte almost gun metal grey with matte black rims. I have to admit it does look pretty bad ass.

But yes no Picnic Table Spoilers :3eyes:

Actually a fabic bra will **** up the paint by itself as it will move slightly and scratch the paint as debris get under it.
Get a clear bra or don't bother.

Why an automatic? Honda makes the best manuals ever.

Not only that, but paint does tend to fade over time. so even barring the fair chance of slight scratches from a bra twitching at highway speeds, you'll also potentially end up with two-tone paint.

And if you ask me, the Juke only looks nice from the back. Back looks quite sharp. Front.... just screams "Kermit the frog here"

The most likely area road debris is going to hit your car is the front, for obvious reasons. My car is proof of that, as I have tons of little dots where the paint was removed by a rock or something.

I'm not saying I like the bras or would ever use one, but they do have a purpose, even if it's not really a significant one.
