Some mixed results, I dont think that Showdown is a good benchmarking tool as every time it benchmarks each one is different every time. So getting accurate results is pretty impossible. Also, with the MASSIVE drop in min fps in ARKHAM CITY I put down to a loading issue as I just ran the test again and I got min of 31FPS which is 2FPS higher than WHQL 12.8 this is still with everything maxed out DX11, 8XMSAA, PHYSIX OFF (obviously lol).

Hope this helps people out only took about an hour to do. I think I am going to keep these drivers til official 12.9 are released but that's just me.

 

Obviously Dirt is no good as a benchmark tool. Ideally a Benchmark tool is identical each time. By having a different scene, or even different elements in a scene (say a game with different pedestrians, vehicles etc) it can throw out the benchmark results.

For me these drivers run great, I tried doing a run with a couple of games and it does run well.

 

Well... Mobility 5870 on Win 8 and doesn't work.... Back to 8.982.7.0 August 8....

You do realise CCC isnt mandatory, I dont load mine, I use the sapphire Trixxx software instead as its designed for my card rather than generic.

Someone got a solution for my problem?

Since the versions after 12.7 beta my CCC closes when i click it for the first time and than starts properly.

 

Yep, going to skip these, 12.8 isn't any good, this one seems to be worse. Thank you anyway.

 

Max Payne 3 runs great with this version.
Could be new patch for game, who knows.

 

You do realize that this driver has nothing in common with the 12.8 WHQL?
This one is the second one of the 9.xx driver branch, after the early preview one posted in June 12.
Just download the one with the fixed CCC and you should be fine.

 

Any comment on my having a 5870m but this driver saying it is a firepro 7820m?? should i just go back to the first 9.00 driver which did not do that?? voltages / clocks are the same.

 

You do realize that I never said this driver has anything in common with the 12.8 WHQL? I just said that the last driver (12.8) is crap, and this one is even worse according to someone's benchmark.

 

I misread your post, thought you generalized and said "the 12.8's are not any good".

Now I can play with 4XMSAA and constant 60 fps(with forced triple buffering in RP) :eyebrows:

 

HD 7970 Crossfire

The good: They have finally fixed the idle issue on my second card, AND Hardware Acceleration in Firefox is also fixed.. Nice AMD

Performance wise they are not any good for me, i get significally lower fps in BF3 compared to the 12.8. They also feel alot less fluid.


So, i'm going back to 12.8

Just reinstalled Windows a little while ago, and already installed 12.8 drivers... now I have to turn around and uninstall them and give these a go

Can't wait to see my results

 

No luck with CCC on v2 drivers on my computer; trying out v3 in a bit

Edit: What I meant is, no advanced GPU settings are present on CCC, but it does open

 

i took the v3, it is amazing!:infinity:
