Sleeping Dogs

This game is f#*king brilliant, and after 23 hours I'm still amazed every time I play it.


Stuck in the stairwell, so he punches out the windshield and casually exits - :wanker:






The lighting, real-time reflections and (never thought I'd say it) blur effects are perfect.

 

Does look great! I'm only about half way through Episode 1; I'll be sure to fire up Inspector before I continue.

 

Sleeping Dogs looks awesome. Is it a GTA style of game?

 

Very much so. You play an undercover cop in Hong Kong, infiltrating the Triad gang. You do missions for both factions, and in doing so, gain points for upgrades in each pathway. It's an open world, so there are the usual myriad side missions and distractions in the city. The main difference is the emphasis on melee combat - mostly kung fu - with gunplay taking a smaller role than most in the genre. It's very well made, and if you like this style of game, I highly recommend it.

 

Sounds great. Can you go off track and just do what you want like on GTA? I often get bored of doing a storyline and just want to drive around really fast

 

Absolutely. I do the same thing: a couple story missions, let loose on some pedestrians, hit some sweet jumps, steal a boat, have a bowl of noodles, sing some Air Supply hits at the karaoke bar :wanker: etc.
