Whats New Since 304.79 - Modded?
    - fixed typos in gui.
    - supports all known nvidia devices (mobile and desktop).
    - removed some image quality hacks to gain performance for direct X and open GL.
    - removed W format tweaks.
    - left in direct X Z and blitting optimisations.
    - left in openGL image quality tweaks.
    - notebook users does not have oem specific tweaks this time round (only modded official verde drivers will have this).

    Modded 305.68 vs Official 305.68
    - more lightweight (driver package size is smaller).
    - desktop and notebook support integrated into one driver file.
    - supports every known nvidia devices (mobile and desktop).
    - improved image quality - same performance.
    - no installation files left on system after installation.
    - fixed issue with certain desktop cards not downclocking in 2D mode?
    - added unofficial support for Windows 8 - will this install on windows 8?
    - added unofficial support for mobile optimus devices.

Optimus users - this may or may not work 100%. Original 305.68 never had Optimus in it. Try it and let me know. If it doesn't work then stick with 304.79 modded.

    Notes / Limitations
    - drivers are packaged in a frontend that extract files to temp folder which will run setup.
    - extracted driver files will auto delete once setup is complete / canceled / after system reboot.
    - Phys X is removed to help reduce file size. Latest physX can be downloaded from nvidia's website.
    - Nvidia update is removed (in non optimus version)
    - driver tweaks does not fix any bugs with the official drivers.
    - Driver only supports WIndows Vista x64 / Windows 7 x64 / Windows 8 x64.
    - This modded driver will not provide the highest benchmark / 3D mark points but benifits in real games.

    DOWNLOAD only x64

Has anyone got the 305 drivers to work on Windows 8?
All driver sets I have tried fail to install even with modded inf.

Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated :)

Installs on Win 8 fine but you have to disable driver signature enforcement

305.67 work on Win 8 without modifications or disabling driver sig (they are official)

And what do you do exactly to gain those "performance" and "improved image quality" fixes?

that is what I would like to know usually modded drivers just add a placebo effect or even make things worse.

Xtreme-G arnt as good as they used to be,most of the tweaked drivers now i try actually lower performance for myself, however in days gone by there were an improvement over the official drivers.

i dont care if its (slightly) lower performance as long as the IQ is top notch, which it generally was

    That is Dox from LTV2G.

I've been a big criticizer of Xtreme G (still am) and people who swear by Quadro drivers.
But at least these are more clear cut. (Dox's drivers on LTV2G I mean). And the idea of default custom profiles in the future (like the better AA flags in the AA guide here on the forums, or known working SLI profiles that NVidia has/will not add for).

Just to clarify, the last two download links in the OP have nothing to do with the quote in the OP or my post, totally different drivers. The first DL link is the one.
Jury is still out on these though, but at least it's something.

Ok...i kinda test those new Xtreme-G's drivers in Sleeping Dogs compare to standard (.inf moded) 305.68 WHQL. With Xtreme-G's i have a 5 to 10% performance loss with no visual image quality increased or whatsoever...pretty same with MechWarrior Online.

Will reverse back to 304.79 beta with added new games profiles from 305.68 - for me they are the best (304.79) for now in case of maximum performance and stability.

i dont think these are Tweakforce/Xtreme-G...

the first post is word for word quoted from laptopvideo2go, they are Dox's modded drivers.

Unless he does both (not sure, its been a while since i saw any modded drivers)

edit: sorry didnt see someone else already beat me to it... lol

The last two are, the first is Dox's. Not sure why XtremeG's drivers are there.
XtremeG's website has been censored from the forums and most topics relating to them gets taken down. Not sure why exactly. But I'm ok with them being taken out of the spotlight of Guru3D, they have been pushing these modded drivers for a long time now. Never have they hinted as to what the hell they do to them. At all. It's all very fishy. Comparisons have been done and the only difference anyone can point out is the custom installer/extractor they use.

I'm not saying Dox's drivers are not up for the same scrutiny (the first download link in the OP) but at least we are much more clear as to what the hell they change (mostly referring to the quote I posted up a few post that Dox said). And like I said, simply having a driver loaded up with custom profiles sounds appealing.

Theres nothing fishy about there modded drivers,i been using them since there old forum before the current one in 2005....I used to get more fps with the old XG drivers from around the 180.** and downwards, but nowadays whenever i have tried them i get worse performance than the official drivers so i dont really bother anymore although respect to the guys over there for doing what they do.
